Saturday Spanking again and I do enjoy this opportunity to give you a sneak peek into my first book. I'm hoping my snippets with help everyone get to know Cassie and Tom. All my snippets this month will be from Cassie’s Space coming out December 11^th. This conversation takes place when Cassie and Tom had only been dating a few weeks. Cassie had been totally on her own for the past five years and she has done exactly as she pleased - drinking, partying and going through men like tissue. While Cassie is infatuated with Tom, she doesn’t want anyone penetrating the tough shell she has developed as protection. But Tom’s falling in love, and he won’t give up.

    “Really?” he asked me. “Is everything in your life the way you want it?”

“Of course it is.” I assured him. “I have the money to travel, shop and party day and night, what’s not to like?”

“I think you need more than that, you need someone who cares for you, someone to protect you, love you, and make you feel safe.”

I laughed. “That’s the silliest thing I’ve ever heard, I’m not scared of anything. As for the rest, it makes a great fairy tale, but I don’t need it. I’m happy with my life just the way it is and I can take care of myself.”

How grateful I am to this day that Tom knew I was lying through my teeth. Of course I found out later that he knew a thing or two about me that I didn’t know myself.
