Saturday Spanking - Rethinking decisions

Welcome to Saturday Spankings. I hope you have a great New Years Eve planned and I hope your New Year is the best yet! Did everyone’s find some time to read over the holidays? I hope so. There’s been a slight delay in the release date for my latest book, Cal’s Law – but hopefully it will be live by January 6th.
With the choice of being arrested or being spanked Jenny choses a spanking. She reasons that even little kids get spanked, so it’s shouldn’t be anything she can't handle. It doesn’t take her long to rethink her decision.

“Owww.” Jenny cried out in surprise, it was harder than she had been anticipating. When Cal landed the second swat on her left cheek Jenny realized with growing dread just what she had agreed to.
“Shit, that really hurts, not so hard!” Jenny cried.
“You’ve no say in this at this point, spankings hurt. You make stupid, dangerous decisions and you get spanked. It’s supposed to hurt so you’ll want to make better decisions and avoid the spanking in the future.”
This was not what Jenny had expected. She began kicking her feet. Cal easily penned her legs with his. He paused moments later – he was well aware that this was her first spanking and he had no intention of overdoing it, but he planned on her remembering it.

Blurb:

Jenny is the typical rich-kid, sorority girl. Getting good grades isn’t high on her priority list. In fact, that sits well below getting into the secret faction of her sorority. To do that she must pull off a daring bit of mischief.
Cal Bennett is the town sheriff. He’s a relatively young, no-nonsense, kind of guy – with a good heart. He is the moral center of this small town in North Carolina. But when his and Jenny’s paths cross unexpectedly, things get complicated and he questions his morals and his heart.
His plan to save Jenny from herself by enforcing strict discipline seems like a sound one.  To both of them. At first. He enacts a touch of martial law and Jenny agrees to learn more than English Lit. Cooking, cleaning, and laundry are but a few of her new subjects. Along with time-management, telling the truth and doing homework. Breaking any one in this new set of rules will result in a sound spanking. It all sounds simple enough when she signs on the dotted line of the contract between her and her sheriff.
But, life is messy and she is faced with one tough decision after another. She’s a college student! Shouldn’t life be easier than this? Less complicated? But she is pulled in two directions: her moral, upstanding sheriff leads her down one path, and a cute frat boy leads her down another. In one direction lies maturity, and a future. In the other, the simplicity of being a rich kid in college where Mommy and Daddy pay for everything. Now she must choose: Will she continue to let her parents pay for it all, or will she learn to pay the price for her own actions?

Brace for Impact - Daryl Devoré

What could be simpler than a routine plane trip from Toronto, Canada to Caracas, Venezuela for a rookie flight attendant and a sexy R.C.M.P. officer?

I am very happy to have Daryl Devoré as my guest today. Her work is new to me and I'm very excited to read Brace for Impact. Read on to learn more about Daryl and her work.

What could be simpler than a routine plane trip from Toronto, Canada to Caracas, Venezuela for a rookie flight attendant and a sexy R.C.M.P. officer?

But Fate had other intentions.

After leaving a disastrous marriage, Paix Allcot begins a new career as a flight attendant. The romance of travel plus the desperate need to be on any other continent other than the one her ex is on seems like a dream job. For the first time, Paix is no longer a trainee and the passengers in economy class are under her care. Especially the handsome passenger seated in 36C.

Guy Lapierre, undercover officer, is following a vicious human-trafficker. He has little time for relationships. Too many innocent lives are at stake. But when the plane crashes and Guy is stranded on a tropical island, he is forced to work with Paix to survive until he discovers that the man he is tracking is Paix's older brother.

Can a pink bra and a hot night on the side of a volcano save the relationship and their lives?

Review

Daryl Devore likes to add unexpected events to her novels. And this one has several which if you google you’ll discover have really happened. So as you read this delightful story thinking it over the top, remember that while some events may seem improbable, life is full of improbable occurrences.
I thought both Guy and Paix were stand-up people. Paix had a moment of not so stand up when she finds her brother, but even there, when she thinks it through, she rights herself in short order. No one is perfect, but these two are really good, which results in great extreme action fun.

2 Warnings: The sex is explicit and the final chapter might scare you at first, but keep reading.

Excerpt:

Guy stood, turned to face Paix and held her hands. "I did find something. And you have to see it. But it's pretty ugly and going to be hard to look at."
She clenched her fingers around his. "You found…"
He nodded. "I think so. He's dead. I wouldn't make you do this, but family member identification…" He hunched his shoulders.
Paix's knees buckled. Guy grabbed her shoulders and shifted her, so she sat on the palm tree trunk. She wrapped her arms around her waist and trembled. He moved away and stood silently waiting for her. He gave her a moment to grieve. She understood. There was no hurry. If it was Steve, there was nothing they could do.
Tears welled up. What would she tell her parents? Their only son – dead. Their only son – a human trafficker. She blinked through the tears. Guy held his hand out. Blood seeped from along his palm. She glanced up and met his pained gaze. She could tell from his expression he didn't want to do this. He didn't want to make her look, but he had to. He had to see his job through and it was ripping into him.
He sighed. "Why don't we go and see and then get it over with. Maybe, it isn't him." He grimaced and shook his head. "But I'm pretty sure it is."
She stood and held his hand in hers. Lifting up the edge of her blouse, she dabbed at the blood. "Okay. Let's do this. Knowing is better than wondering."
Guy led her to the edge of a small cliff and down a short dune to the beach. Before her lay the vast expanse of an angry ocean. Waves rolled. White caps crested. Dark clouds skated across the sky. To her right the small beach was cut off by an imposing mass of black rock. She forced her head to turn to the left.
A mound of palm fronds covered her destination. Guy stepped between her and the mound. "Turn your head. Look at something else. I'll just uncover his face. Then you can take a quick look and tell me yes or no, is this Steve Allcot? Your brother."
She averted her face. The palm fronds rustled.
"Okay." Guy touched her arm.
Paix inhaled a deep breath, steeled her nerves and looked toward the body. Releasing a high pitched wail, she dropped to her knees. Sobs wracked her body.
"Paix. I need you to tell me. Is this Steve Allcot?"
"Yes!" She snarled. "Are you happy? My brother is dead."
Guy flinched like she'd slapped him across the face. She paused. Her palm itched at the idea. It would feel so good to inflict some pain onto him. He'd hurt her enough.

Now a little more about our author:

What's your genre or do you write in more than one?

I write in erotic anything. If I can stick erotic in front of it, I'll have a go at it. I have 2 erotic contemporary billionaire stories, an erotic twisted fairy tale, an erotic medieval romance, an erotic contemporary fantasy, an erotic contemporary crash romance and an up and coming erotic contemporary rock star romance.

Is there any genre you'd like to try?  Or is there one you wouldn't?

Mystery. Mystery stories fascinate me.
I don't think I'd ever want to try Creative Literary Fiction. Definitely not my cup of tea.

Tell me a bit about yourself and what inspired you to become a writer?
I live on the Ontario side of the Ontario/Quebec border. When I'm not writing, I'm a yoga class. I love to garden and cook.
As to what inspired me - I learned to print and was able then to put my stories on paper.
What is your greatest temptation:

In men: Matt Damon – hands down – no question.
In food: chocolate – no wait- cookies – oooh chocolate cookies
In clothes: jeans – I'm a pretty casual person although I love checking out $900 Prada heels.

Saturday Spanking - Cal's Law

Welcome to the last Saturday Spanking before Christmas! I know people are very busy on this Christmas Eve and I appreciate anyone who take the time to stop by today. But I am excited because I have a brand new book coming out next week! You should be able to get Cal's Law by Wednesday, December 28th!
In today’s snippet, Jenny’s in trouble. The last thing she wants is for her parents to be brought into the mix. Cal is unimpressed with Jenny’s main concerns about her situation.

“You can’t call my parents!” Jenny cried. “They’ll kill me! Mother couldn’t possible stand the embarrassment. She wouldn’t shut up about it as long as I lived and Daddy said I can’t go to Greece this summer if I mess up one more time. Please, you have to let me go.”
“So that is the kind of discipline you’ve had all your life? And how did Daddy think you messed up before, eat with the wrong fork at dinner?”
“Daddy’s all pissed about my grades first semester.”
“How bad were they?” Cal asked.
“I failed three of my five classes, but it’s not my fault – not that it’s any of your business. They’re all eight and nine o’clock classes, who can make it to class that early?”
