Saturday Spanking - Could this be you?

Welcome! I hope you’ve come to fill your Kindle. Spring is here – maybe you have time for a quick vacation and you’re going to need something to read. I hope you’ll give Returning to Us a try. I put a lot of myself in this book and I really think many will be able to relate to Susan's feelings.
In today’s snippet Susan sits down to talk with Quincy, her mentor in Corbin’s Bend. Susan had been trying to avoid the talk. She had fallen back to her old ways of closing in on herself and hiding her true feelings. She knows Quincy won't let her get away with that.

“Nothing’s wrong. Hal’s very happy. He’s…”
“I didn’t ask about Hal. I asked about you.”
It wasn’t going to work. She wasn’t going to be able to hold the tears back.
“Hal is happy. Corbin’s Bend is wonderful. It’s full of spankos, fun for all. It’s fucking awesome!” Susan concluded, bursting into tears.
Quincy said nothing. She reached for a box of tissues and placed it on the table and let Susan cry.
Finally, Susan spoke again. “I wish we’d never come here. I thought he’d stick to it with all these spanking role models. But it’s just the same, except now everyone else has what I want. It’s worse than being alone with my needs.”
“Has Hal stopped spanking?”
“Oh no, he spanks every time he wants sex.”
Quincy said nothing, letting the words hang in the air.
“You know the outside world would view us all as odd balls, Quincy. And now I feel like the odd ball within the group. Most women here would love what I have. I only get spanked for fun or for sex. Who wouldn’t love that?” Susan snapped.
“You,” Quincy answered.

Saturday Spankings - What hurts the most?

Welcome back for another Saturday Spanking. My reading suggestion for today, Returning to Us, is one that I think many women who want a domestic discipline relationship will truly understand. It’s hard to articulate what we want and many men just never seem to ‘get it.’
In this snippet Susan came home hours late, and although she thought she’d sent a message to Hal, he’d never received it. While she worries about the spanking she has coming, she does feel she deserves it.

Susan shook her head at her conflicted feelings. She always thought she wanted strict discipline from Hal. Yet now, facing a serious spanking, she wanted to get out of it. But did she really? She hoped he wouldn’t use the old black brush. That thing really hurt. Maybe he’d just use his hand. That was always best. Susan took a deep breath, then joined Hal in the bedroom.
He was down to his boxers and gave her a quick kiss as he went in to brush his teeth. She sat on the edge of the bed in her night gown. Hal returned, crawling into his side of the bed.
Susan looked at him, puzzled. “I thought you were going to spank me,” she told him hesitantly, as she stood up.
Hal pulled back her side of the bed. “You come help me get warm,” he told her. “I’m not going to spank you. Today was mostly Venia’s fault and I did tell you my phone wasn’t working right. I want you to be careful though. From now on, you tell me exactly where you are and when you’ll get back, understand? But you didn’t do anything really wrong today.”
Susan got into the bed and Hal pulled her close. “I’m just glad you got back safely,” he told her as he nuzzled her neck. Susan reached down and patted his thigh. But Venia’s words kept repeating themselves in her mind. ‘The pain of a spanking is nothing compared to the feelings I had when there was no one who cared enough to take me in hand. I’d gladly take a sore bottom any day to that constant pain.’

EXCERPT:
A phone sex operator. What the heck had she been thinking?
Taking a deep breath, Avery followed a tip Esmerelda passed on when she hired her and draped the thin scarf intended to disguise her voice as huskier than it really was over the phone given to her by the agency. Pressing the green button, she answered, praying she could do a better job keeping this person on the line longer than she had with her first attempt at seducing a stranger over the phone.
“Midnight Whispers. How can I pl… please you?” Avery winced at her stutter, those words tripping her up the same as with the first call. She chilled at the slight pause, but when the voice finally came through, the deep, amused rumble sent an unexpected wave of warmth through her.
“Excuse me, sugar. I must have dialed wrong.”
“Wait!” Panic and desperation turned her voice reed thin as she tried to stop him from hanging up. “Please, can you just… talk to me for a minute?” How stupid, she moaned, knocking her head against the headboard. At the price per minute they would charge him why would he stay on the line? He paused again and then asked her a question that threw her for a loop with his astuteness.
“You in some kind of trouble, sugar?”
“I… why do you ask that?” Was the man a mind reader?
“Let’s say I’m good at listening to women, hearing what they need without them saying so. It can help to talk, even to a stranger,” he offered, surprising her yet again.
Not in this case. If only she could. Confiding in someone, anyone would be such a relief. But telling anyone how Darren had used her and ensured she would fall under suspicion should his evidence stealing ever be discovered was not an option, at least not until she could find a way to keep her name clear.
“N… no, there’s nothing I need to… talk about.” She sighed in despondency. “I… I’m just desperate for money,” she admitted. Why not? At least that much was true, and at this point she had nothing to lose by revealing that personal tidbit to a stranger. Damn it, there he went with another pregnant pause, leaving her struggling to swallow past the lump of dread lodged in her throat as she waited for the buzz of a disconnected call to ring in her ear.
“And this was your only option?” Doubt colored the rich tenor of his voice before turning to one of regret. “I’m sorry. I’ll let you get back to work then.”
“Wait!” she gasped again, not believing she was about to do this. Given how nice he’d been so far, what could it hurt? It wasn’t like they would ever meet. And what other choice did she have? “Would you mind giving me… some pointers? You know, on what I could say that might…” Avery winced, gripped the phone tighter and rushed to say, “make you want to keep talking to me?”
Amusement crept back into his voice as he returned in a dry tone, “You really are desperate and out of your depth, aren’t you?”
“Yes,” she breathed. There was no point in denying the obvious.
“I’m much better at telling and showing women what they want, what turns them on. Let’s go with that and then you can turn it around for your next caller. Are you somewhere private?”

Saturday Spankings - Doesn't it hurt?

Happy Saturday Spanking everyone! I hope everyone is reading and has come by for some good suggestions. There are new stories from Cassie up on her site, Cassie’s Space, if you’re interested. She’d love to have you drop by. As for me, I’m posting a snippet today from Returning to Us.
Susan and Venia are talking with a woman they met at a writers’ gathering. She wants to know more about real life in a spanking relationship.

“But…but doesn’t it hurt?” Megan finally managed to say, in a small voice.
Susan and Venia laughed together. “Do spankings hurt? Good grief, yes! And they can also feel wonderful – and that can be the very same spanking!” Venia confirmed.
“Don’t you get mad?” Megan wanted to know.
“No, I really don’t,” Venia told her. “Like I said, most of my spankings are for fun. When I’ve done something that really upsets Jeffery, I feel guilty and I’m more sorry than angry.”
“I sometimes get angry,” Susan admitted. “Since we’re just now getting back into it, there are days when I don’t feel very submissive and so I can get mad, but it doesn’t last long. Like Venia, sometime I realize I’m madder at myself than Hal.”
Megan sat up straighter, as if something Susan said had struck a nerve. “That’s what I wonder about too! Submission! I’m forty years old, I’m raising two daughters and I want them to be strong and independent. I can’t do that and turn into a doormat.”
Venia grinned, “Do I seem like a doormat to you?”
Megan looked at Venia and finally smiled. “No, not in any way. That’s why I’m confused. You’re not a meek, timid person. So I can’t picture you letting your husband spank you.”
“I’m not sure you could find a meek or timid woman in all of Corbin’s Bend. I think it’s our very strength that allows us to accept, to crave, this lifestyle. We can take on the world. But there is such comfort in knowing that there is someone who is strong enough to catch us when we need to fall into their arms.”

Saturday Spankings - Is that all?

Happy Saturday! Yes it’s March and hopefully spring is not that far away now. But the truth is half of the country is covered in snow and the other half is about to be washed away in a cold rain. The solution – curl up with a good book and wait for warm weather!
In my snippet today, from Returning to Us, Susan has had a slack day and when Hal calls her on it she realized she does deserve a spanking. But things don’t always go as she expects. That’s their problem.

Susan hurried to greet him. “I’m sorry honey, I fell asleep.”
“All day?” he asked, puzzled.
“No, but it was so rainy. I got caught up in the book and then I finally fell asleep.” Susan felt like a wreck. She still had her nightgown on. She hadn’t showered or done one thing around the house. The breakfast dishes were still on the counter and there was a load of dirty laundry in the laundry room.
“Shame on you,” Hal told her, though he was wearing an understanding smile.
Susan braced herself as he reached for a wooden spoon. But she realized she had it coming. She had certainly broken the first two rules about cleaning and moving. And had she lied? She hadn’t been exactly forthcoming about the hours she’d spent on Facebook and Candy Crush. And she hadn’t started anything for supper even though it was her night. Yes, no doubt she deserved a spanking.
Hal bent her over the island and administered three sharp swats to her derriere before standing her up and giving her a kiss. “Why don’t you straighten up in here and I’ll start the laundry.”
Susan, puzzled, watched him retreat into the laundry room. That’s it? I break four of his five rules and he basically pats my ass.
Hal soon joined her. “If nothing’s started, we can go out tonight if you’ve been cooped up all day."
“Sure, that’s fine. I’m going to take a shower,” she told him.
Hal stopped her. “You okay? Is anything wrong?” he asked.
“No, everything’s fine,” she assured him. Might as well make it five for five, she thought.
