Cassie was simply enjoying a relaxing afternoon with Sue,
sipping wine and watching the river. Truly getting into trouble was the last
thing on her mind, but when she hears her oldest cat stuck in a tree Cassie
worries about how long she may have been stuck there. With Sue’s help Cassie
rescues the cat, but after the ladder falls bending parts of it, it’s suddenly
Cassie that’s stuck up a tree. With Tom gone for the afternoon, it’s Ryan the
ladies call for help. However when he sees the unstable ladder he pulls out his
phone and calls the rescue squad, infuriating Cassie –
“Why did you do that?” I flared.
“I could ask you the same thing,” he
shot back. I told you he was getting more like Tom every day.
Ryan did ask them to come without
lights and sirens, and they complied, but in a small town everyone and their
brother seem to follow a fire truck, even a small one.
Can you imagine how foolish I felt
sitting in a tree with the whole neighborhood staring up at me laughing?
But of course, with my luck holding
true to form, it was only moments later that someone joined the crowd who was
not at all amused by my predicament. From my perch I could see Tom pull in and
my heart sank. I had the distinct feeling that sitting on that small hard
branch was the most comfortable my rear was likely to be for a while.
There are plenty more snippets out here today. Check them all out.
Oh goodness, Cassie sure does get herself in some predicaments! LoL

True Roz, and honestly she rarely sees it coming.
DeleteHi
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed all your Cassie books, I loved reading about a feisty woman my age. Can hardly wait to read Book 5.
Thanks Rhonda, I think many of us enjoy having someone to show us that being older can be tons of fun too.
DeleteCassie is my hero, she keeps life interesting for all those around her.
ReplyDeleteSo true, wouldn't we all like to go on a girls trip with Cassie and friends?
DeleteVery cute! I like it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Natasha.
Delete*Shakes head* Cassie always seems to find a way in to trouble.
ReplyDeleteI know, but all she wanted to do was help her cat. Oh well...
DeleteOh no, lol. This was fun to read. I can so see this playing out. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's one thing when you know you're being a brat, but this happened so innocently.
DeleteI just know I'm going to enjoy this Cassie tale.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Ronnie
xx
I hope you do Ronnie. She's a hoot.
DeleteAw, poor Cassie, that is a predicament!
ReplyDeleteI know, tree climbing isn't a skill she is particularly good at.
DeleteOkay, I'm sorry, but that is hilarious! I am going to love this book! I'm pretty sure she's going to keep anyone around her on their toes!
ReplyDeleteI hope you like it Corinne, Cassie can be a lot of fun.
DeleteCassie makes me smile. Congrats on the new release!
ReplyDeleteThanks Celeste - I'm really enjoying all that's involved.
DeleteLol, that really was a fun snippet. The scary thing is if I was Cassie, and that was my cat, I would have done exactly the same thing. Ryan should have made more of an effort to find a secure ladder, the tattle-tale!! :)
ReplyDeleteI'd be right up after mine too Tara. Cassie agrees with you fully about Ryan, but that boy wasn't about to risk her safety on a faulty ladder.
DeleteAww poor Cassie. What else could she do? Sue should have thrown her a rope! Great snippet PK :)
ReplyDeleteThat's true Constance, of course Sue did help her get into this situation.
DeleteI love this, PK!! :) Cassie is really something!! I need to start this one asap!! Many hugs,
ReplyDelete<3 Katie
Thanks Katie, I hope you'll like it.
DeleteI got such a picture in my mind from this and it made me smile and laugh. Loved it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sam! Cassie can be so much fun.
