Welcome back to Saturday Spankings! I am
excited that I just got two books finished and off to my beta readers. I’ll be
promoting them soon, but now I’m going back to each of the Cassie books for a
snippet from each.
Today I’m highlighting the second book,
Cassie’s Tale. Cassie and the girls were annoyed while on a trip to California,
when the boys spend so long golfing they didn’t feel like going out for dinner.
Sending the men on to bed the girls stay up to complain about them. Finally,
about four the girls decide to go out for an early breakfast. When they were
missed the men were definitely not happy. The next morning Tom lets his
feelings be known.
“You thought you would get back
at me by slipping off in the middle of the night, no phone, no note – nothing
to tell us where you all were. Well I hope you really enjoyed it - when are you
going to learn to stop cutting off your nose to spite your face?”
“Tom, it wasn’t like that.” I
sat up to pull the sheet around me. I don't think it's just an accident that we always seen to have these conversations when he is dressed and I’m nude? I
started to fall back on my old standard, “It’s all Sue’s fault,” but I realized
I’d be wasting my breath. I knew what was coming, I could see it in his eyes.
Evidently, he felt the conversation was over, because he went over and got the
brush out of his suitcase. As he was on the other side of the bed, I tried to
make a quick dash to the safety of the bathroom. Didn’t work, and my view of
the carpet was pretty much a forgone conclusion since we had turned the corner
and seen all the lights on.
Poor Cassie. Tom didn't even give her a chance to explain, though she does have a history, doesn't she? Love the snippet, PK, and congrats on having two new books with your beta readers.
ReplyDeleteI guess you would say she does have a history. The two books are exciting for me, thanks.
DeleteI always love this line with her "view of the carpet."
ReplyDeleteElla
Cassie should have the floor well memorized!
DeleteShe's probably very used to that carpet.
ReplyDeleteYou know it!
DeleteI remember this scene. :D Congrats on all the two finished projects!
ReplyDeleteThanks S. J.!
DeleteAwesome about the two finished projects coming up, PK! :) LOL! Poor Cassie! That Sue alibi is old hat for her! I think that perhaps Cassie would be an excellent person to help one pick out new flooring, don't you? Many hugs,
ReplyDelete<3 Katie
That may be the only part of decorating the house where she should be given total say!
DeleteGreat snippet, PK, and well done on the completed WIPs!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lucy. Working on polishing now.
