Saturday Spankings - Where's Cassie?

Thanks for coming by for Saturday Spankings today. I’m anxiously polishing the soon to be released Cassie book and going back on Saturdays to give you snippets from some of the other books. Today I’m in book three, Cassie on the Move.

While on a cruise with friends, Cassie had already gotten herself in trouble with Tom by sneaking out one night to go to a show without him. The next day he told Cassie to stay on board rather than shop in port. Annoyed, but complying, Cassie stayed on the ship. But when she and the girls tried the climbing wall, Cassie broke a nail. Tom loves Cassie’s hands and she knew she had to get it fixed before he saw it – since it was obvious evidence of unladylike activity. But when Tom comes back to the ship and can’t find her, he thinks the worst. Sue calls the salon to tell Cassie Tom was angry and to hurry.

I was surprised. Tom is so controlled, usually I’m the only one who can tell when he’s mad. If Sue knew he was angry something was up. But it couldn’t have been me, even with the broken nail I hadn’t done anything that would have really made him mad.
The girls were all together headed toward our rooms when they spotted Tom stalking toward them, obviously extremely upset.
“Where’s Cassie?” he demanded.
To which they all answered in unison, “Cassie?” As if they had never heard of me before. Really, could they have been any more suspicious?
Sue said it was as close to shouting as she had ever heard from Tom when he thundered, “Where is my wife?”
Although they had all promised not to tell him I was having a nail repaired, we had forgotten to collaborate on a story as to what I was supposed to be doing. Faced with an angry husband the girls all seemed to be stammering for an answer until Annie nearly yelled, “We’ll help you look for her!” And then as if a starting gun had sounded they all took off in different directions. Sue said later it must have looked like a scene from the keystone cops as they all bumped into each other in their dash to get away before Tom could corner anyone with specific question.

Cassie is on the move and loving life. Through paint ball game in the woods and water park adventure she’s gets to know her new neighbors as the new house is renovated.

Cassie is traveling too, from trips with just the girls, to conventions, vacations, and cruises with Tom and friends, she's always ready for the next adventure. But when Cassie begins having dizzy spells Tom thinks a slower pace is in order. Getting Cassie to slow down and take care of herself proves to be quite a challenge. A challenge Tom is more than determined to take on.

  1. Some readers think Tom is too controlling, but I never see it that way. I like him just the way he is.

I guess I better get back to rereading my Cassie books, since there is a new one coming soon! When I reread her stories, I feel like I am visiting a dear friend.

  2. I could see Annie & Sue's feigned innocence and awkward cover up. Thanks for a good laugh.

  3. I laughed at the Keystone cop imagery. I could see each of them bumping into each other as they scrambled to escape Tom's wrath. Tom isn't too controlling. He's just right for Cassie.

    1. You're right, he's perfect for Cassie. He may be a bit controlling, but she seems to do everything she wants to.

    1. Me too! I wouldn't have been wanted to be cornered by Tom at that moment either.

    1. I guess it's because I totally watched the whole scene in my head before writing it. It's great to have 'home' movies.
