Saturday Snippets

I’m back again to enjoy Saturday Spanking – and I do enjoy reading everyone’s snippets, despite how long my TBR list is growing. As promised this month I’m putting up snippets from Cassie’s Space, coming out December 11th. Most of Cassie and Tom’s story is taking place in the present, but you’ll often get a look into their past. Today’s snippet takes place early in their marriage. Having never had a man stay in her life, Cassie sometimes goes through periods of being sure Tom will eventually leave her – this belief often caused burst of anger that neither of them understand. As this snippet begins Cassie and Tom have been given the use of a remote mountain cabin – remote enough to make wandering off alone dangerous. Cassie’s anger has her wanting to get away from Tom for a little while, but Tom, coming to the end of his patience, refuses to allow her to wander in the woods alone.

“You make a move out that door and I’m going to wear you out.”
Truly neither one of us knew, at that time, what to do. I felt out of control, but I couldn’t accept Tom’s control. I decided I wouldn’t stand for it.
I turned and stormed out the door and down into the small clearing at the edge of the woods before I turned to see if Tom came after me. He had walked out on the porch, pierced me with a stare and I could see anger in his very stance.
I stood with my hands on my hips glaring at Tom as I could see him growing more and more angry. Decision made, I threw caution and sanity to the wind as I flipped him the bird.
“Fuck off!” I shouted, then took off at a dead run.

I’ll let you imagine Tom’s reaction – or you can read all about it when the book comes out.

Don’t forget to check out these wonderful snippets.

  2. LOVED it PK. Nothing like weighing up your chances and the deciding on the course of action that will definetely make things worse. Oh but it’s so satisfying LOL :)

    1. Natasha,
I'm really skipping all over the book for the next month. Giving all sides of Cassie's personality. And she does have many sides.

I hope you will and I really do think it's better when you can read a bit more at the time.

I believe the edge is where Cassie has set up permanent housekeeping.

    1. Thanks LA, I believe I'm as close to them as any friends I have in real life. I hope this is a good thing.

    2. An author can never get to close to their characters, the better you know them the better you can share their story :-)

    1. Thank you Emily, that's a true compliment. Cassie and I have been discussing all this in my head for decades. I'm just grateful for a place to share it.

Tom have spent decades trying to keep theses two things in a somewhat manageable range - he's done okay, but they are still there.

  13. I certainly love it when a heroine reacts the way I would in real life. This was a very real reaction, I also loved that she ran away afterwards, LOL. I'm almost certain I know what Tom will do next...

You're probably right to a point, but he did shock me a little. Cassie sees Tom as HOH, but she's never really been submissive. Thanks for coming by,

  15. Good Gravy PK! Got a funny feeling that Cassie is not gonna be sitting down for a good month once Tom finally catches her. And why do I have a funny feeling things are gonna get worse before he catches her...Come on 11 December!

    Hugs and Blessings...

Tom was really mad, more than normal. Cassie realized that soon enough.

  17. PK,
I think I'm going to have to introduce Tom to soap, as a cure for a bad case of potty mouth.
That will make me popular with my little sister. LOL!
    Love and warm hugs.
    Paul.

    PS
    had visitors yesterday.

    1. Paul! Do that an I bet your little sister would fly over and expose you to her extensive vocabulary in person. Trust me, Tom has nearly wiped this our over the years (at least around him).
