Welcome to Saturday
Spankings, a wonderful blog hop where we can hear about the newest works from
some great writers and also share our own work.
I appreciate you coming by here and I hope you’ll have the chance to
read all today’s snippets.
I’ve had a great week
and I’m so happy that Cassie’s Conflict is finally out here for everyone to
read. If you’ve enjoyed Cassie in the past I think you’ll enjoy this book.
Last week we were a
little worried about Cassie’s young friend Allie – and with good reason.
Although she was physically okay, her choices and decisions earlier that
evening landed her in more hot water than she had imagined. When the whole story came out, Ryan, as Tom
would put it – wore her out. Later the next evening she shared with Cassie how
the spanking ended.
“Cassie, in it was the
meanest looking, black, wooden hair brush you’ve ever seen. It made me think of
a snake coiled up in there on the tissue paper it looked so evil. He grabbed
that awful thing and started spanking me with it and I thought I would come out
of my skin. That’s when I started crying. Ryan had never spanked me with
anything but his hand before and that brush sucks.”
My heart sank for my sweet
Allie. My hatred of hairbrushes goes back nearly forty years, and to think that
there was another in our midst was heartbreaking. I knew Allie was much smarter
than me and surely a faster learner. Perhaps theirs wouldn’t ever see the
overuse ours had.
Blurb : Cassie is one busy lady. The new country club/spa has opened and the whole gang is enjoying all the amenities. That is until a new club member, Clara, begins to ride roughshod over everyone. The situation worsens until it becomes physical, but even that doesn’t stop it.
Cassie seems to find little conflicts everywhere she turns, but it’s not always her fault. Tom is over protective about her health, sending Cassie into a tantrum. In addition, a few things happen on the girl’s trip that lands Cassie, as well as the other ladies, in even more hot water. Through it all Tom is there to love and protect Cassie in his own unique way.
I hope you'll give all the Cassie books a read.
Ouch, poor Allie, being introduced to the hairbrush. Love Cassie's comments on the brush, especially about theirs being over used lol

She truly believes that. I guess ivory last forever.
DeleteI'm thinking she should cut her hair so she can get by with a small plastic comb.
ReplyDeleteAn excellent idea - I'll pass it on.
DeleteWorth the wait.
ReplyDeleteThanks Leigh!
DeleteLooking forward to reading it.
ReplyDeleteLove,

Hope you like it Ronnie - let me know!
DeleteHairbrushes *are* evil.
ReplyDeleteYou can say that again!
DeleteI'm with Addy. Hairbrushes make me cringe. Nice snippet, tho :)
ReplyDeleteMe too! I would not want to be Cassie when Tom picks up that brush.
DeleteAt some point Allie was going to spread her wings a bit and get onto a bit of trouble! After all, she's also Cassie's friend!
ReplyDeleteShe probably won't need as many reminders though!
I think the idea of a hairbrush is much nicer than a reality! Lol
Allie is smart, but she does look to Cassie as a hero and mentor so there's no telling what may happen in the future.
DeleteOh!! Hair brushes are the WORST! I hope that Allie doesn't misbehave to deserve the hair brush again.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good plan, but she does spend a lot of time with Cassie.
Deleteooh, yeah. Hairbrushes are serious!
ReplyDeleteI don't like them, but they are still better than canes.
DeleteYikes, the dreaded hairbrush so artfully described...and used! Lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks Maggie - they always give me the shudders.
DeleteGreat snippet, well done!
