Saturday Spankings - January 17

I’m always happy to be part of Saturday Spankings, many wonderful writers sharing eight sentences. My TBR list grows and I hope some of my books will go on your reading list.

In today’s snippet from Cassie’s Conflict, Tom is once again becoming overly worried about Cassie’s health after she had a brief dizzy spell. He makes a doctor’s appointment for her the next day without bothering to consult her. Cassie is angry at his high-handed ways and goes into a small rant. Tom finally tells her enough – that he doesn’t want to hear another word. He got his wish, even as the nurse tried to do a work up Cassie follows Tom’s orders and says nothing.

“Well what’s the problem today?” she asked in a chipper little voice, but I ignored the question.
She looked back and forth between us until Tom spoke up. “She’s been having dizzy spells and they’ve gotten worse lately, she fainted last night and I’m worried.”
The nurse turned to me, “Honey, just sit here on the table and let me get your blood pressure. Now what were you doing last night before you fainted, when had you eaten last?” I continued to ignore her. As far as I was concerned, this was Tom’s visit and he could do the talking.
Tom answered her questions as she did her workup. Finally she turned to him in a lower voice and asked, “Does she speak?”
“She can talk a blue streak when she wants to, she is just being obstinate at the moment, but that’s going to change soon, isn’t it, Cassie Jane?”

Cassie’s Conflict is available now at
Amazon and Barnes and Noble

Blurb : Cassie is one busy lady. The new country club/spa has opened and the whole gang is enjoying all the amenities. That is until a new club member, Clara, begins to ride roughshod over everyone.  The situation worsens until it becomes physical, but even that doesn’t stop it.

Cassie seems to find little conflicts everywhere she turns, but it’s not always her fault. Tom is over protective about her health, sending Cassie into a tantrum. In addition, a few things happen on the girl’s trip that lands Cassie, as well as the other ladies, in even more hot water.  Through it all Tom is there to love and protect Cassie in his own unique way.

I hope you'll give all the Cassie books a read.

  1. Cassie sure is being obstinate. I guess Tom did get his wish lol. I wonder if she will suddenly find her tongue after Tom's threat?

  11. Uh-oh. The use of the middle name never bodes well for the sub.
