Saturday Spankings - Not so Perfect

Welcome to Saturday Spankings! I’m putting up snippets from Searching for Home, the last in the Cal’s Law series. In today’s snippet, Ryan has just found out that his wife Allie has taken up smoking and he’s not happy. He’s questioning her as to why a lovely, intelligent woman like her would take up such a bad habit.

“Fine!” Allie finally snapped at him. “You want to know? I’m sick and tired of being Little Miss Perfect! I feel dull. It’s not like I want to do everything Cassie and Sue have done over the years, but I love the way they grab life by the balls and shake it! Jenny’s right there with them and I feel like the  timid one.  I’m usually the one telling them to settle. I’m the ‘voice of reason.’ Well, I’m tired of it! I want to be one of the fun ones, not the girl sitting with her hands folded, behaving just as she should!”

“Damn!” Ryan barked. “Maybe you are stupid! You take up smoking in secret to get yourself in trouble? That makes a hell of a lot of sense. And just how ‘good’ do you think you are? You talked Cassie, Sue and Annie into getting tattoos a few years ago. And …”

“I did not! I …”

“I’m not finished,” Ryan told her. “You’ve been right by Mom’s side nearly every time she’s gotten herself into trouble, since you met her. You got arrested with her for breaking into that hotel last year!”

“We weren’t arrested…” Allie tried to interrupt again.

“And all this smoking mess,” Ryan went on, getting louder and louder, “is it because I don’t get mad enough? Don’t yell enough? Don’t spank you as hard or as often as Dad spanks Mom? I can change that. I can find a ton of things to be picky about. I can spank you every time you blink wrong. Is that the kind of husband you want me to be? I can do it. But if I change, you’ll lose the husband you have now.”

“Ryan, that’s not what I want. I want you just the way you are. Please don’t change anything.”

“I feel the same way, Al. If you turn into Cassie or Sue or Lane or Jenny, then I lose you.

Saturday Spanking - Fight! Fight!

It’s Saturday again. We’re definitely seeing flashes of spring in my neck of the woods. They don’t last, but we see it coming. I’ve taken today’s snippet from On the River, the first book in my newest series.

The younger women asked if Cassie, Sue and Annie had always gotten along as well as they seem to now. They wanted to know if they ever fought. When Cassie and Sue began laughing the girls knew there was another story to hear. We’ll jump in here in the middle of their ‘discussion.’

“I’d heard all I was going to listen to,” Cassie continued. “I tried to control my anger, really I did. I told her she was lying and to shut her damn mouth and that Tom certainly did not beat me. ‘That’s absurd and you know it,’ I told her.

“Then she yelled, ‘He didn’t beat you? Sit down! I want to see you plop down in that chair.’

“I told her to get the hell out of my room. I was nearly growling.”

Cassie looked thoughtful as she went on. “I remember Sue saying something like, ‘I love you. You know that. But he’s hurting you. I can’t ignore that.’

“We had barely discussed spanking at that time. I mean she knew it occasionally happened, and of course there was what she’d witnessed on the cruise, but… Anyway, I told her something like, ‘Tom does not beat me. Our marriage is different. We do things our own way. I’m fine with it. You know we’re happy. Why are you doing this?’

“But she was right back at me, calling me a doormat. Then I remember exactly what she said.”

Cassie looked over at Sue who looked the slightest bit embarrassed. “She said to me,” Cassie went on, “‘He’s convinced you that he has the right to beat you and you’re such an idiot that you’ve bought into it. I can’t stand by and watch again. Tom’s no better than ...’”

Cassie paused, surveying her audience. “And that’s when she did it.

“She said my first husband’s name.

“It’s not a common one. I never hear it and I sure as hell never want to. I never mention him by name, he doesn’t deserve it. But she didn’t just say the name, she said it in the same breath as my wonderful Tom. She actually said that Tom was the same as … him!”

Cassie stopped and took a sip of her wine. She and Sue exchanged another look that none of the others could read.

Finally she went on. “I don’t know if she expected me to take a swing at her – the fool certainly should have. She should’ve run like hell. My fist caught her right in the nose and I remember she staggered backwards. Then she came at me. Her first punch split my lip and then, boy howdy, it was on! It was your typical girl fight after those first few blows. We knocked the cart with the food on it completely over. We were on the floor rolling, kicking, scratching, biting, head butting and hair pulling. Part of me wishes I had a video of the whole thing. I know we were a sight to behold.”

Saturday Spankings - The need for speed...

Welcome to Saturday Spankings! I’m still very excited about my newest release, On the River and I’m happy to be sharing some snippet here. If you enjoy Cassie and her friend, please go back and check out other books about them in the Cassie’s Space series and the Cal’s Law series.

Cassis is ready for another girls’ trip. Tom is never in favor due to some definite misadventures in the past. But Cassie is Cassie and adventure is always calling.

“So,” Cassie picked up the conversation, “where do you want to go? China? Antarctica? Outer Mongolia?”

Annie laughed. “After some of our adventures on our girls’ trips, we’ll be lucky if Tom lets you out of a fifty mile radius.”

“I just want to do something different,” Cassie lamented, “something fun and unusual. We could learn to fly a plane or maybe parachuting. I guess it would be hard to learn to fly, but even I could figure out how fall out of a plane.”

Musing, she continued, “We could go mountain climbing or … learn to ride a motorcycle. Take scuba diving lessons! Or how about going to Spain and running with the bulls?”

All the women were smiling indulgently at Cassie’s wild ideas.

“Tell Mr. Tom any of them ideas and you can practice runnin’ from that bull. He’d have hisself a fit just hearin’ ‘bout ‘em,” Lily exclaimed.

“You’re probably right,” Cassie agreed. “I don’t want to give him a heart attack, but keep thinking, girls. I need some excitement.”

Mom needs excitement. Now that’s a frightening thought. Realizing Cassie was fully capable of trying any of the things she’d just mentioned, Allie exchanged a worried look with Lily.

Saturday Spankings - Cassie never believed...

* I would greatly appreciate anyone who would follow me on Bookbub or Goodreads!

Welcome to Saturday Spankings! I’m so happy to have the new book out. On the River is the first in a new series. The characters, Cassie’s ‘family’ are familiar to many of you, but if you’re a brand new reader – trust me, you’ll feel right at home from the beginning.

In today’s snippet begins as Annie talks Cassie out of stopping by the shooting range, somewhere Tom has firmly told her to avoid. Cassie finally agrees and comes home to find good things await her.

You do realize, don’t you, that when we go along with something that Tom doesn’t want you to do, our butts can be in as much danger as yours?”

Cassie looked at Annie and shook her head. “Your butt will never be in as much danger as mine.” Cassie knew from Annie’s few descriptions of her ‘spankings’ that they were generally a few mild swats. “But fine, fine. Never let it be said that I would do something against Tom’s wishes.”

Sue rolled her eyes as Annie laughed and they headed for home.  Cassie dropped Annie and Sue off at each of their houses before heading to her own. She walked into a kitchen filled with the aromas of Lily’s baking. “You made chocolate cake! White, marshmallow icing?”

“You know it. I know what you like, Missy. Now go lock up that gun ‘fore somebody get hurt.”

Cassie headed to her room and safely secured her gun before getting cleaned up for dinner. She had just stepped into the shower when the bathroom door opened and Tom came in.

“You’re home early. How was your day?” she asked, her voice rising over the noise of the shower.

“It was good. We came to a good stopping point and I decided to head home. Hmm… I’m wondering, could you use a hand in there?”

“Oh yes!” Cassie smiled broadly. “I’m sure I missed a few places.”

Tom quickly undressed and joined her. With great skill, he turned an ordinary shower into a magical experience of luscious-smelling soaps and intimate massages. Cassie leaned against Tom almost weak-kneed as he continued to run his hands over her body.

“I’m ready to call off dinner and lock the bedroom door,” she told him.

“I’m afraid that wouldn’t be polite. That and the fact that Lily is cooking a standing rib roast. But I promise not to forget where I was,” Tom assured her.

Reluctantly, they exited the shower. Cassie gave him one last kiss and asked, “Do you think young people know that you can still feel this kind of passion and desire at our age?”

Tom laughed. “I imagine it will come as a shock to many of them. And what about you? You’ve said you didn’t even think our marriage would last, much less that we couldn’t keep our hands off each other all these years later.”

“Yes, can you believe it? The one thing I’ve been wrong about since we married.”

Grabbing Cassie into a tight hug, he gave her naked bottom a swift pop. “The one thing? Girl, I’m going to need to teach you how to count.”
