Saturday Spankings - Spanking for the right reason

Welcome to Saturday Spankings. I have another snippet from On the River, the first book in my latest series. Book two, Secrets on the River will be out early in August.

In today’s snippet Cassie has once again found a way to get Tom wound up. She had a fun, exciting evening the night before but Tom only sees the danger. As often happen Tom is torn over keeping his wife safe and keeping her happy.

Cassie stared at her husband. She didn’t want to fight with him. She’d missed him and she just wanted to be held. A single tear slipped down her cheek before she could catch it.

Tom knew Cassie’s tears. He’d seen them caused by anger, by joy and certainly from a spanking or two. He knew often her tears were cleansing, a true release of fear or stress. But now there was only sadness in the tears and those hurt him.

“Come lie down with me,” he said and they curled up on the bed together. Cassie still cried silently as he held her and kissed her softly.

Finally as her tears stopped she told Tom, “I was going to tell you about it. Not the moment you walked in the door, of course. But I loved what the man said last night and I wanted to share it with you. It was more of a motivational speech than anything. It made me feel confident and brave and powerful… he made me feel like I could do anything.”

Tom shook his head. “Just what I wanted, someone to make you more confident and bold!”

“Tom I don’t care if you spank me or not – but if you do, do it for the right reason.”

“And that would be…”

“Do it because you love me and love to spank me – not because I did something wrong, because I didn’t. I know you want me safe, but you can’t protect me from life. I’m going to live and enjoy it, not sit in a safe bubble until I die of boredom.”

Saturday Spankings - Not so Perfect

Welcome to Saturday Spankings! I’m putting up snippets from Searching for Home, the last in the Cal’s Law series. In today’s snippet, Ryan has just found out that his wife Allie has taken up smoking and he’s not happy. He’s questioning her as to why a lovely, intelligent woman like her would take up such a bad habit.

“Fine!” Allie finally snapped at him. “You want to know? I’m sick and tired of being Little Miss Perfect! I feel dull. It’s not like I want to do everything Cassie and Sue have done over the years, but I love the way they grab life by the balls and shake it! Jenny’s right there with them and I feel like the  timid one.  I’m usually the one telling them to settle. I’m the ‘voice of reason.’ Well, I’m tired of it! I want to be one of the fun ones, not the girl sitting with her hands folded, behaving just as she should!”

“Damn!” Ryan barked. “Maybe you are stupid! You take up smoking in secret to get yourself in trouble? That makes a hell of a lot of sense. And just how ‘good’ do you think you are? You talked Cassie, Sue and Annie into getting tattoos a few years ago. And …”

“I did not! I …”

“I’m not finished,” Ryan told her. “You’ve been right by Mom’s side nearly every time she’s gotten herself into trouble, since you met her. You got arrested with her for breaking into that hotel last year!”

“We weren’t arrested…” Allie tried to interrupt again.

“And all this smoking mess,” Ryan went on, getting louder and louder, “is it because I don’t get mad enough? Don’t yell enough? Don’t spank you as hard or as often as Dad spanks Mom? I can change that. I can find a ton of things to be picky about. I can spank you every time you blink wrong. Is that the kind of husband you want me to be? I can do it. But if I change, you’ll lose the husband you have now.”

“Ryan, that’s not what I want. I want you just the way you are. Please don’t change anything.”

“I feel the same way, Al. If you turn into Cassie or Sue or Lane or Jenny, then I lose you.

Saturday Spankings - A Deception

Happy Saturday everyone! I’m moving on to book six of the Cassie’s Space Series, Cassie’s Influence. Cassie and Sue need to do some shopping before the gang head off for California. They shopped, dined and got home safe and sound and that should have been the end of it. But Cassie’s darling husband, Tom, doesn’t miss much…

I barely washed my face. I was worn out. I slipped my shoes off my aching feet and padded to the bed. Tom undressed the rest of me. Lying back in the bed felt like floating on a cloud. I was so comfortable and content. I snuggled down on the bed as Tom began rubbing my back. It felt like heaven as Tom quietly talked to me about his day and his evening. It would have been the end of the perfect day had my sweet husband not decided to give me a foot massage.

Pulling the covers from my feet I heard a surprised sound. Then Tom asked sharply, "Cassie, what did you do to your feet?"

My feet? What was wrong with my feet? Self-preservation told me being asleep was my best bet. So I began muttering as if I were fading fast. "They're fine."

"They're swollen, badly."

Oh, that was not good. I hadn't even realized that they were swollen. Gracious, how many husbands would have even noticed? This was going to take some finesse. In my vagueness, sleepiest voice I murmured, "Walking…"

"Walking doesn't cause your feet to swell. They only swell when you fly. Girl, where did you go today?" His voice was no longer gentle. "Cassie, answer me."

There was no way I was saying another word. I stopped muttering and just concentrated on breathing slowly and deeply. I needed time to think. I knew the whole story was probably going to come out, but putting that moment off was the only thing on my mind.

Still standing beside me, Tom lay his hand on my naked bottom. "I know you're not asleep. We'll wait until morning if that's the way you want it. But understand this, pretending to be asleep is just one more deception."

Blurb:

Intentionally or not, Cassie’s influence spreads. Sue’s marriage has improved through Cassie’s influence. However, when Sue’s marriage unexpectedly takes a turn for the worse, Sue pushes for the solution she feels will work, a solution that could put Cassie on a collision course with the ivory brush.

Allie and Ryan are both feeling influence from Cassie and Tom. Cassie doesn't mean to lead Allie astray - but Allie sees Cassie as a role model. Every adventure, old or new, captures Allie's attention, which increases her desire to be more like her mentor. But for better or worse, Ryan is just as determined to be like Tom.

Saturday Spankings - The Danger of Fighting

I’m glad you’re here for another Saturday Spankings. My snippet is from the fifth Cassie’s Space book, Cassie’s Conflict.

In my post last week show how the ‘fight’ began between Tom and Cassie. This snippet picks up just a short time later. If you haven’t read that snippet, click here. Tom is ready to get Cassie back to the hotel but she’s still mad not ready to go.

“I’m not leaving. I’ll go when I’m damn good and ready,” I replied coldly.

Tom stopped dancing and looked me straight in the eye. “You better be good and ready within thirty seconds or I’m going to put you over my knee and wear you out right here and now.”

Would he have? Would he have really? At our age? In front of our friends and his colleagues? Surely not. But I wasn’t ready to find out for sure. I followed Tom to the table to tell the others we were leaving. Andy said, “We’re right behind you.” But we didn’t wait.

It was not a relaxing walk back. I could feel my heart pounding. Surely Tom was too angry to do any spanking when we reached the hotel. I knew he was still very upset with me and unfortunately I was just as upset with him, but with much less recourse.

“Tom, are we going to talk? Are you going to listen to me?”

“Cassie Jane, I can’t think of a thing you could possible say that’s going to keep me from wearing you out.”

I didn’t want to return to the hotel at all. I had to have a minute to breathe and gather myself. I wasn’t thinking clearly at all. We were across the street from the beach. I needed the beach. I wanted to run. Just long enough to clear the anger away. Of course, Tom’s the runner in the family, but given enough incentive I’m not a bad sprinter. I could kick off my sandals the minute I hit the sand. Bare foot in a lightweight dress, I felt like I could outdistance Tom in his suit and street shoes.

I didn’t want to give Tom any warning of what I was planning. I needed to take him completely off guard so I turned in an instant and ran – directly in the path of an oncoming car.

Suddenly everything in my world faded away except the lights of the car bearing down on me and the sound of the screaming tires.
