Saturday Spankings - Dance Hall Drama

Welcome to Saturday Spankings! It’s getting well into the busy season, but everyone need to take some time for themselves. You need to curl up with a good book and you’ll find some really good one on this blog hop. My snippet come from my latest, Cassie’s Life.
Off on a girl’s trip the ladies visit a dance hall the likes of which none of them have ever seen before. They all dance with some very interesting characters, even some who have already been spoken for. They decide it’s high time to leave, but they weren’t out quite fast enough.

Heading to our car we’d gone no more than past a couple of stores when we heard a woman behind us loudly saying, “You bitches better be running.” Sue and I both came to a dead stop, then turned around slowly to face the prom queen.
“What did you just say to us?” I inquired in my most menacing voice.
I heard Lily, farther up the street mutter, “Oh, Lord.”
I addressed her once again, “Do we look like we’re running?”
The prom queen seemed startled when we’d turned to confront her. Sue and I headed back toward her, quickly backed up by Annie, Allie and Jenny. Lily was heading our way too and I could still hear her praying. The queen seemed to lose her bluster quickly.
“Y’all just stay away from him, hear? He’s mine,” she told us as she looked around for reinforcements.
“Listen honey, every last one of us has a better man than your ponytailed friend. We didn’t ask him to dance, he asked us. If you don’t like it, put a collar and leash on him the next time you bring him,” I told her.

Come by the Reading Room each Wednesday for some questions and answer from different characters in the Cassie's Space series or the Cal's Law series.

Cassie’s Life (Book 10)

Ask Cassie about her life on the river and she’ll tell you it’s lovely and peaceful. But while Cassie loves the life she lives, peaceful is not always an accurate description. Whether she’s confronting an armed man who’s in a drunken rage, planning a friend’s wedding or dealing with a ghost in a backwoods lodge, Cassie is going to deal with it the best way she knows how. And peaceful doesn’t always work.
When a mysterious phone call comes for Cassandra Wentworth – Cassie’s past is suddenly back to haunt her in a devastating way. Tom has always said nothing from before the time they met counts, but he didn’t know about this.  Sue, Annie, Allie and Jenny are all willing to help, but will it be enough?

    1. If it had gotten physical, definitely. But since she kept it verbal she's probably good.

  3. Love it. Telling the woman to put a collar and leash on her boyfriend. Actually, looks like she might need to if she doesn't want him dancing with other women.

    1. You got it, he didn't hesitate a minute once the prom queen was out of sight.

  4. It always amazes me when the woman gets mad at another woman for something her man's done. Great snippet!

    1. Exactly! I've never understood that either. He's the one that knows he has a girlfriend. She should be mad at him.

  5. I am feverishly working on a book review for Cassie's Life. No one can call Cassie a shrinking violet!
