Saturday Spankings - No spanking?

Welcome to Saturday Spanking blog hop. I know this is a very busy time of the year or so many. But remember, you do need to take care of yourself. When you get that rare fifteen to twenty minutes to read be sure your Kindle is loaded with something you can enjoy. And personally, I’m going to suggest Cassie’sLife, you can cry and laugh and smile as you read.

In today’s snippet, something upset Cassie and Sue greatly and falling back on old bad habits they decided to drowned their sorrows. Once Tom found out, Cassie felt she knew what was coming, but she was in for a surprise.

Tom turned my face to him. “You know my feelings on your drinking. The amount you drank was dangerous. You evidently fell and hurt yourself – yet you don’t even remember doing it. You caused Annie and Lily to lose a night’s sleep babysitting you and you frightened them both and you hurt Lily’s feelings. Yes, I think you deserve a spanking.”
I shivered a little in his arms. As much as I can annoy Tom, serious spankings are becoming rare in our home and I hate them. I hate them for the obvious reason, but I’ve also realized how much Tom hates to give them. His feelings and mine add together to make it a sad, upsetting experience for us both.
“But I’m not going to spank you,” Tom finally went on.
I was stunned. I sat up to look at him, had I heard right?
“When Lily told us all that happened she asked Steve and me not to spank either of you for this.”
“What? She was so mad – I thought she was about to do it herself? I swear I thought she’d hand you the brush. Why would she try and stop you?”

Come by the Reading Room each Wednesday for some questions and answer from my different characters.

Cassie’s Life (Book 10)

Ask Cassie about her life on the river and she’ll tell you it’s lovely and peaceful. But while Cassie loves the life she lives, peaceful is not always an accurate description. Whether she’s confronting an armed man who’s in a drunken rage, planning a friend’s wedding or dealing with a ghost in a backwoods lodge, Cassie is going to deal with it the best way she knows how. And peaceful doesn’t always work.
When a mysterious phone call comes for Cassandra Wentworth – Cassie’s past is suddenly back to haunt her in a devastating way. Tom has always said nothing from before the time they met counts, but he didn’t know about this.  Sue, Annie, Allie and Jenny are all willing to help, but will it be enough?

  2. This fun book is full of surprises. Some were like this - thought-provoking and opened discussion. Others were suspenseful and fun.
I started to read this out loud to my DH the other night and he didn't want me to stop. You have another fan in our house now!

  6. Sometimes not being spanked is worse than the alternative, even harsh punishment spankings. You feel as though things have been left unresolved between you.

    1. You're right. But Tom knows Cassie inside and out. He's always do what's best for her.

  7. I just finished Cassie's Life for the 2nd time last night. Now I am starting to percolate and think about a book review for this wonderful story.

I agree. Sometimes it is worse to know you have caused someone you love to be unhappy. Thanks for the snippet, PK, and even more for letting Cassie live in your head.

    Love You,
    Ella
