Merry
Christmas and happy holidays. It feels great to be on vacation from school.
I’ll have plenty of time for reading all the snippets over the next several
days and maybe I’ll have time to do some real reading and writing over the next two weeks.
I
know this is a busy time for many and I appreciate you spending part of it
here. This snippet again comes from my newest Cassie book, Cassie's Conflicts, coming in January. I’m picking up this snippet
right where I left off last week. Tom is out of town and the hateful Clara has just slapped Cassie after Cassie called her a bitch.
I hadn’t been in physical fight of this nature in over thirty
years, but back in the day, I had more than my share of physical altercations
and instinct took over. I learned long ago – never bring a knife to a gunfight,
and anyway slapping isn’t my style. I balled up my fist and punched her full in
the face. She went down like a sack of bricks, blood spurting from her nose.
I’m not sure who was more shocked, Clara, Allie and Ryan as they
arrived on the scene or me. Even as Ryan knelt down to attend Clara and offer
her his handkerchief he was asking me, “Cassie, are you all right?”
I didn’t answer him. This was a question I was to be asked often
over the next several hours and during that whole span of time I never was sure
of my answer.
Coming in January!
I hope you'll give the Cassie books a read.
Can't wait. Love Cassie and her adventures.
ReplyDeleteThanks Leigh. You know she never means to have adventures, they just seem to happen.
DeleteDelicious snippet, well done!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lucy.
DeleteThanks for the snippet PK. Lovely. Can't wait to read it.
ReplyDeleteLove,

I really think you'll enjoy the stories in this one.
Deletewow, what a scene, PK! While part of me wants to say "poor Clara" for her probably broken nose, I'm still in way more sympathy with Cassie. I can only imagine the trouble this'll get her into with Tom gets home
ReplyDeleteWell Clara did hit first, but Tom told Cassie to steer clear of the hateful woman. I think you'll enjoy the rest.
DeleteYay, Cassie!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary Sue! I love Cassie!
DeleteClara is a bitch! You go, Cassie!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you see it that way Holla. Now what will Tom think?
DeleteI agree, good on Cassie I say :) pretty sure Tom won't agree though!
ReplyDeleteHugs
Roz
You're right on both counts. I'm afraid punching a woman in a public parking lot won't be on his list of proper lady like behavior.
DeleteWhoa-- okay, I knew she'd engage, but didn't know she'd bring in the big guns. Go Cassie.
ReplyDeleteI was so proud of her!
