Valerie Ullmer - Jade

Jade (A Dark Assassins Novel Book Four)
By Valerie Ullmer

Genre:  Paranormal Erotic Romance

Blurb:

Jade never wanted a mate.  She loved being an assassin and she had a family in her fellow assassins, their mates, and little Silas.  She truly had everything she needed. But when Ghost assigned her to track the same immortals who tried to kill Xander’s family, she couldn’t refuse.

But the complication arises when Ghost requests she partner with Noah, a human and ex-special forces soldier.  Jade has never worked with a human before, much less one that hated her from the moment he laid eyes on her. But she was a professional and if she could play a part in destroying the immortals who threatened her family, she could accept the human.  If only she knew how to fight her attraction to him.

All Noah Hale wanted was to kill the immortals who lured his best friend and fellow ex-Navy SEAL to his death.  He had no desire to be teamed with a beautiful tracker who mesmerized him the moment she turned her emerald eyes his way.  But in order to stop other soldiers from pursuing the same fate, he needed to swallow his pride and work with a group of immortals he didn’t trust.

As Jade and Noah track the group of shifters through the mountains of Colorado, the danger lurking around every corner threatens everything they both hold close.  Will they be able to find a way through, together?

Excerpt:

Jade caught a scent of a human as she entered the fourteen-story building in downtown Snowfall.  It wasn’t just any human scent, but something that made all of her instincts flare. She knew that she’d never caught this particular scent before, but something told her that this human might be important to her.  She tried to brush it off as quickly as the thought came, but she couldn’t find it coincidental she smelled it in the same steel building owned by Ghost and housed the headquarters of Dark Company.
As she dismissed the fleeting thought of searching for the scent, her heart thumped once, hard, in her chest at the thought of not finding its owner.  She forced herself to walk toward the elevator bank, ignoring the unwanted perusals she received from the men in the lobby. Even in an unassuming hoodie and black yoga pants, she drew unwanted attention.  A side effect of being an immortal.
The elevator opened as soon as she pressed the up-button and she kept her gaze down as she walked into the elevator.  She entered the code to get to Ghost’s private floor, her movements too quick to be caught by the human eye, before she squeezed into the corner.  Jade used her other senses as three men in suits and two women entered the enclosed space with her. There was no need to glance at the glass interior that covered the back wall to see what she looked like.
She sensed eyes on her.  Instead of searching out the gaze, she whipped her long, straight dyed black hair into a bun on the back of her head with quick movements before sneaking her hands into the front pockets of her hoodie.
Jade waited patiently as the car traveled toward the penthouse, her ultimate destination, but she couldn’t help but try to find the intriguing scent from earlier.
After my meeting.
All she knew was he hadn’t used the particular elevator she was in and the higher the lift took her in the building, the more his scent dissipated.
In her entire existence, or what she remembered of it, she’d never been attracted to…anyone.  She’d never felt the pull to find someone either. But lately, she’d felt increasingly restless whenever she had any downtime and her skin tingled in a way that had nothing to do with signaling immediate danger.  It was as though her body tried to convey something she didn’t understand.
Her thoughts were interrupted when a man who had gotten into the elevator with her on the first floor stepped into her personal space.
“Hey, beautiful?”
Jade rolled her eyes and raised her head to glare at the man.  Of course, he wouldn’t take the hint that she wanted to be left alone.  To emphasize the point, she crossed her arms and leaned against the wall, moving away from his intrusion.
The man decided to take this as an invitation and moved to wrap his arm around her waist.  The move gave her a clear shot to his ribs and she took it, gently moving her elbow back and making contact.  She flinched when she heard a distinctive crack, realizing she hadn’t been careful enough. Before she could apologize, the elevator door opened and he ran off without looking back, holding onto his side.
She sighed.

Saturday Spanking - Uncomfortable shopping

Welcome back to Saturday Spankings. Are you beginning to wonder if this winter will ever end? I’m starting to. My plan is to find a nice, cozy, warm spot in the house and read until it’s warm outside. If you feel the same way, let me give you a snippet from Returning to Us from the Back to Corbin’s Bend series.
In today’s snippet, Hal has sent Susan on a shopping trip – with a reminder that he is in charge. She meets up with Rose and Quincy…

“I don’t know what you mean,” Susan stammered. “I’m just doing… a little shopping.”
Rose smiled sweetly and with a knowing look said, “Just a little casual shopping, wearing a butt plug?”
A look of horror crossed Susan’s face. “How did…” she trailed off. Both women laughed. “Honey you’re in Corbin’s Bend and we see it all the time. You’ll be able to spot it soon, the shifting from foot to foot trying to get comfortable. Clenching and unclenching – we call it the ‘butt plug shuffle.’
“You mean …you?”
“Many times,” Rose confessed.
“And many more to come I suspect,” Quincy chimed in with a laugh.
Susan stared at the women in total shock. How could they laugh and joke while she was dying of embarrassment? Quincy reached out and took her arm. “Honey, it’s all part of getting settled. There are going to be times you’re going to feel embarrassed and self-conscious, but soon you’re going to realize that no one’s laughing at you. We may laugh because we’ve been in the same situation or know we could be, but it’s more a feeling of camaraderie than anything else.”

Daryl Devoré - Branwyn's Love

Branwyn’s Love
Daryl Devoré

#hotread #erotic #courtesan #love

Blurb:

Daryl Devoré pens another hot read – the medieval romance -Branwyn’s Love.

The tale of a young woman sold as a courtesan in training. Branwyn arrives in a new land to begin daily lessons in the bewildering art of bedding a man.

The noblewoman chosen to be Prince Malacke’s bride rejects him by bedding his hated rival. Malacke turns his anger towards increasing the power and wealth of Black Dorn castle. And he succeeds until his attention is captured by the face of the woman who will be his queen.

Note: This book contains elements of domination, submission, and fetishes. If these concepts disturb you, please do not purchase or read this book. Branwyn’s Love was formerly known as Black Dorn and published by New Dawning.

Excerpt:

“Excellent. Now we begin your first and most important lesson - tragor. In your language, it has many meanings. But I believe duty is a good word. Through your duty, you must submit. Submission is your tragor. Do you understand what that word means?”
“Yes, Duna Trea. I am a very obedient person. When my aunt or uncle requested I do something, I did it without question.”
“But yesterday I told you not to speak to anyone unless spoken to first, yet you disobeyed me. And did it to Gon-Dra Malacke.”
“I am sorry,” said Branwyn. “I was frightened and confused. I…I did not know who he was. But Leah explained these things to me.”
“So, do you state that you understand tragor?”
She closed her eyes and nodded.
“Then stand and remove your upper garments. Unlace your bodice, let it and your sleeves drop to your waist.”
With trembling fingers, Branwyn tried to comply, but the laces refused to undo.
Duna Trea waited while Branwyn fumbled with the laces. “Now your shift. Expose your body.”
Branwyn’s muscles stiffened. A chill swept through her. “But I will be naked! One should not expose one’s body to another. It is against the—”
A flash of anger filled Duna Trea’s eyes.
Remembering Leah’s instructing and her discomfort, Branwyn did not want to cause any more pain to her. Surely, Duna Trea knows it is wrong to expose oneself. She paused, hoping her duna would rescind the order.
“Tragor.” One anger-filled word hung in the room.
Eyes squeezed shut, and bottom lip trembling, she reached for the bow to loosen the front of her shift, tugged on the right sleeve and removed her right arm. She gripped the material in her underarm and lowered the left sleeve. Placing her arms in front of her breasts, hands clasped under her chin, she raised her elbows, letting the material drop.
“Lower your arms.”
Three simple words cut Branwyn like knives. She tried to drop her arms, but the muscles refused to obey. Tears slipped between closed lids and trickled down her cheeks.
“Tragor, Dune.”
With every muscle fibre fighting the motion, Branwyn lowered her arms but held her hands clasped before her.
“Place your hands behind your back. Complete exposure. Good girl. Now step this way.”
Duna Trea stood next to Malacke.
Wiping her eyes with the back of her hand, Branwyn stepped over and stood next to Trea. “Have you ever touched a man?”

Saturday Spankings - Total Immersion

Welcome back. Saturday Spankings is one of the best places to look if you want to fill your Kindle with great spanking stories. My snippet today is from Returning to Us, from the Back to Corbin’s Bend series.
To begin their journey back to their DD marriage, Hal proposes a ‘total immersion’ to get them started. Susan hesitantly agrees, remembering these weekends can be intense. But after the first long day with multiple spankings, their evening is turning out very well.

Susan scurried to do as he asked. When Hal walked into the room and saw his previously nearly frigid wife in position and waiting for him, his erection was almost immediate. He undressed, then stepped into the bathroom and picked up a bath brush. Back in the bedroom, he smacked the bed hard causing her to jumped and whimpered. She said nothing about him promising no more spanking and held her position. Turning the brush around, Hal ran the bristle side lightly over Susan’s sore ass. She clenched and managed to stay put. Even the light touch was reigniting the fire and every stroke of the day begin to burn intensely. He ran the soft bristles between her legs.
Susan gave a low moan. It was nearly more than Hal could take. This position, with his beautiful wife on all fours aroused him more than any other. As a young teen, he’d seen wild horses mating on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The wildness of the stallions, the sheer dominance they showed as they mounted the female, had stayed with him in his fantasies for a lifetime.

Excerpt:

“Don’t look at me like that,” he told her without looking up from the buttons.
Molly screwed the bedding up in her fists. “Don’t do this!” she implored him for what must be the twentieth time that day. “Please, Master. I don’t like it. I don’t like this, at all.”
“Kitten,” he cooed, pacing toward the bed and falling to his knees beside her. “You’re the reason I’m doing this. You’re the reason I need to do it.”
Molly blinked away the tears which were threatening to fall. “No,” she gasped, as she reached for his shoulder. “If that’s true, then I’m sorry, but I’ve changed my mind. Don’t go…”
She hated how desperate she sounded, but there it was; every word was true. All of her emotions were laid out there. Her heart exposed and vulnerable, just as it had been since the day she’d started to fall for the man who’d captured her.
Connor’s expression melted a little at her display of emotion, but his determined eyes told her the real story. He was going to do it. He wasgoing, and he was going to do whatever this thing was he’d arranged with Malone, and as per fucking usual, there wasn’t a thing Molly could do to change it. Inside her, her heart began to break.
“Don’t upset yourself, pet,” he purred as he stroked the side of her face lovingly. “I want you to stay here and rest, because when this is over, I’m going to need you like I’ve never needed anyone before.”
The knot of tension in her belly tightened at his words. If Connor was going to need her so badly, then her intuition must be spot on, and whatever this was must be absolutely freaking awful.
“I’m worried,” she conceded in a flurry. “I have a bad feeling about this, Master.”
He offered her a small smile. “Honestly,” he admitted, “I have a pretty bad feeling, too, but it will be okay. I have Dalton with me. He’ll look after me.”
She was sobbing as he pulled her in for one last embrace, apparently trying to soothe her with hot, torrid kisses.
“Promise me you’ll stay here like a good, little kitten,” he whispered. “I don’t want to have to lock you in anymore. I think we’ve moved past that point now, don’t you?”
Molly nodded. She didn’t want to be locked in either, but she’d accept those terms from now on if it meant he was going to stay.
“Lock the door behind me,” he warned her. “And stay put!”
Connor’s hand reached for her chin, forcing it up to meet the intensity of his gaze. “Promise me, kitten. Promise me you’ll stay put.”
“Let’s go, Connor!” Dalton’s voice yelled from just beyond the door, making Molly jump instinctively.
“Promise me,” Connor demanded, resting his forehead against her face.
Molly raised her head to meet the strength of his gaze, and she knew he meant it. She was going to have to promise him. That compelling look in his eyes was never going to have it any other way. “Okay,” she sobbed quietly. “I promise, Master.”
But even as the words slipped from her lips, Molly knew she didn’t mean them. Whatever was going to happen to him, there was no way she was just going to lie here and wait.
No fucking way.
