Excerpt – from Two Truths and a Lie

All I had to do was steal a rare, red diamond. How hard could that be?

I followed the others into the Whittle Bus, took a seat and turned to look out the window. I didn't want a seat buddy. I didn't want a BFF—someone to giggle and bond with. I had a job to do. I had to keep my focus.

Especially if I wanted to live.

I stared blankly out the window, not seeing the city shift to country. Music blared from the bus's sound system. The driver turned the radio on an All 80s channel. Trying to block the music, I reviewed my evening. First, act like a meek female, not too competent or intelligent who doesn't speak English fluently. Second, pretend to be an acceptable server and deliver drinks to thirsty, rich people. Third, steal the red diamond.

Simple enough.

I didn't want the gem. Hmph, who was I kidding? I'd love to own it. But, a job's a job. I'd been commissioned to steal and deliver it to a secure box. And that's exactly what I intended to do. I'd planned this job for several weeks, if not months. Finally, the right opportunity presented itself and here I was sitting on a bus listening to You Spin Me Round, dressed like a French maid. So unbelievably annoying. The skirt barely covered the bend in my butt. Every time I tugged at the skirt, my boobs started to pop out of the top. Not that there was a lot of boob to pop out. I seemed to be missing the greatly endowed gene. I stifled the fantasy of putting my fingers around the neck of the old pervert that demanded we wear these ridiculous outfits. And gloves. We all had to wear white gloves. Who does that?

I'm guessing the host of the party didn't want us mere peasants touching anything, leaving our filthy germs which he might pick up and then die of some horrible flesh-eating disease. Hey, a person can dream.

But on the bright side, the gloves played right into my hand―so to speak. I didn't have to figure out how to conceal a pair of latex gloves. I'd wear these white monstrosities, steal the red diamond and not leave a fingerprint in the whole house.

The bus slowed, passed through the open gates then drove around to the back of a large manor house. I'll admit the house wasn't as big as the one in Downton Abbey, but it was still impressive. A reddish-brown brick house with several floors, lots of windows and partially covered in ivy which screamed rich person lives here. The land around it extended for acres in every direction. I'd already done my research on the place. I knew every inch of the outside and inside. I had escape routes planned. Although, I had no intention of needing them. I was confident I was leaving the same way as I'd arrived—on this bus.

I knew where I could hide in the house if needed. And I had a back-up plan to my back-up plan. Several people had been paid hefty fees to watch my back. This gem was as good as stolen.

With my head lowered, I followed the others out of the bus. The music clearly inspired the eleven of them to a high level of chattiness. No one spoke to me or, I guess, even noticed me and that was exactly what I wanted.

Think about all the press reports of crimes. The reporter asks the neighbours to talk about the alleged shooter and they always reply, "He was so quiet. Kept to himself." The fellow officer workers say of the embezzler, "She was as quiet as a mouse. Did her work and went home." That's me. The quiet, invisible one. The one going home with a large, valuable gemstone while the rest go home with a meagre paycheck.

Excerpt - from Desires

His tongue slipped between her teeth. She flicked the tip of hers across the bottom of his. He groaned. She responded. Their tongues wound around each other like tangled spaghetti. Moans escaped her throat. Her nipples pressed against his t-shirt, begging to be suckled.

She broke off their kiss with a gasp. "Question?"

"What?" His voice was equally breathless.

"Why do you still have clothes on?"

He leaned back onto his knees. "I was asking myself exactly that." He pushed off the bed, tugging at his shirt. Flame grabbed the covers and tossed them to the end of the bed. When she turned, Pete stood naked, cock proudly erect. Walking on her knees to the side of the bed, Flame bent forward. The tip of his cock grazed under her chin. A dusting of dark hair circled his belly button. She poked her tongue in and out.

"Mmm. Promises of things to come." He ran his fingers through her hair.

"I'm hoping emphasis on the word, come."

"Oh yeah. There's going to be cuming. And groaning." He bent lower and kissed the top of her head. "You know this is pretty much gonna be monkey sex. We're both wired pretty tight."

Flame bent her arms and tickled her waist while performing her best monkey imitation. "Then let's get the party started." She braced herself on the bed, leaned closer, grabbed his hips for support, and covered his swollen penis with kisses. His breath quickened. His cock twitched. Changing what she did, she traced his shaft with teasing bites and long licks from bottom to top. When he was completely wet, she slipped the tip into her mouth. Holding him there, she reached behind and grazed his bare ass with the tips of her fingers. His body quivered.

Making a circle around him with her finger and thumb, she pressed her lips on her fingers and lowered her mouth as far as she could, then continued the movement with her hand. Pulling her hand back up to her lips, she slid back to his tip then lowered her head and hand once again. Her fingers reached between his legs and stroked his testicles. "Like that?"

"Mm-hmm. That feels good."

She glanced up, met his gaze, and smiled.

Using a light touch all the way through her coordinated stroke, she kept the pressure steady. His fingers wrapped in her hair as he pulled her closer, trying to get deeper into her.

Her speed and pressure increased as the rest of her fingers encircled his engorged shaft and mimicked the efforts of her lips. His hips bucked into her. His breaths came in short, sharp pants and the look on his face said he was focused on the delicious delights her mouth and hand provided him.

Her left hand alternated from clawing his ass to caressing and squeezing his testicles.

With a groan of frustration, his knees buckled. "Stop." She dragged her lips up the length of his cock, slipping off and then kissing the tip. She could taste he was near his climax.

Pete tucked his hands under her armpits and tossed her backward onto the bed. The mattress shook as he climbed on. He knelt and rested on his heels, taking a moment to admire her naked body. "You are beautiful." His hands rubbed her nipples, enticing them to swell. He lowered his head and slipped the closest one into his mouth. His tongue swirled around it, making it wet and hard.

The touch of his tongue on her breast made her clit throb. A groan was all the response she could muster.

Amber Daulton - A Hero's Heart

A Hero’s Heart

Amber Daulton

When it comes to revenge, nothing is sacred, not even Christmas.

Publisher: Books to Go Now

Genre: Romantic Suspense

Length: 38k

Heat Rating: Spicy

Synopsis:

DEA field agent Jarrett Brandt returns home to visit his brother's grave, not to reconnect with his first true love.

Now widowed with a son, Marissa Reinn Brandt expects nothing from the one who broke her heart—the twin brother of the man she’d married—but then her son offers him a place to stay for Christmas.

As they rekindle the flames of love that once bound them together, an enemy from his past and a trusted mentor from his present threaten to destroy everything they hold dear.

Excerpt:

Marissa stood up from the table, grabbed a few plates and headed toward the kitchen. She stuffed the plates in the trashcan and washed her hands under warm water in the sink.

She didn’t want Jarrett to stay with them but how could he refuse? Her son made a compelling argument and it was damn hard to ignore his tears, especially when they weren’t crocodile tears.

Living under the same roof as Jarrett, even for just a few days, wouldn’t be easy. After their amazing night together, Marissa couldn’t fathom keeping her hands off him. His tanned, muscled body nearly made her drool. Just thinking about it doubled the saliva in her mouth. She had vowed just an hour ago to keep her distance and not sleep with him again. Now, she didn’t know how not to sleep with him. With the guestroom bordering her bedroom and Jason’s room down the hall, she could easily sneak inside Jarrett’s room and pleasure his body for hours.

A feeling of unease crept up her spine. She turned to face Jarrett as he approached from the swinging kitchen door. She sighed and turned off the faucet. She dried her hands with a soft towel and refused to meet his gaze.

“I’m sorry, Marissa. If staying here will be an inconvenience, I’ll tell Jason I can’t.”

She shook her head. “He’ll blame me.”

“No, I’ll say that I have to go back to San Francisco for work or Montana for the ski trip. He’ll understand.”

A raw laugh crawled up her throat. “He’ll understand? He’ll scream and beg you to stay. Once you leave, he’ll cry for hours.”

“Marissa, what do you want from me? I can’t stay forever. I don’t want to hurt him or you, I swear it, but I will leave. It’s only a matter of when, not if.”

She grasped the counter to keep steady. She hated how much her foolish heart hurt with those words. “I know that. I don’t expect anything different.” She swallowed hard to strengthen her voice. “I’m not your wife. Jason is not your son. We’re not good enough reasons for you to give up the life you built in California. I don’t want anything from you. I’ll understand when you leave but Jason won’t, not that it’s any of your concern. I’ll deal with his pain when the time comes.”

He clutched his fists and turned away. “You sure know how to make a man feel like shit.”

She folded her arms. “That’s not my intention.”

“It doesn’t change the facts.” He grabbed the cell phone from his pocket and checked the time. “Am I staying here or not? It’s your choice.”

She considered throwing the bastard out on his ass. If it wasn’t for Jason, she would. “You’re staying.”

“Okay.” He gripped the phone tight. “I’ll call my boss and let him know your address.”

“Fine. I assume your bike has a lot of compartments for extra clothes and travel supplies. I’ll show you to the guestroom when you’re ready.”

Jarrett nodded and headed to the swinging door, now still, but paused before passing through. “Thank you, Marissa. I do appreciate it.”

She fisted her hands. “Thank Jason.”

With that, he left the kitchen.

Saturday Spankings - Rescue

Happy Saturday to all. I’m still doing snippets from Cassie’s Ordeal, seventh in the Cassie Series books.

Cassie ordeal of being taken from her home and held captive has been a terrifying experience. Trying to convince her captor that he doesn’t have to restrain her she has spent the day seeming to go in and out of consciousness. Even after being rescued she still isn’t certain of what all is happening.

Mike Reynolds became furious that I had been overheard by the police. I don’t know how many times he hit me, but he got in several blows before the police got him subdued. I remember nothing about being taken to the hospital. Once there I still wasn’t very clear. I felt I was in a hospital, but I also thought that it just might be another dream. I had spent all that time pretending to be out of it, and I was still in that frame of mind. Someone was telling me to open my eyes. Someone asked me to squeeze their hand. I was scared to do either.

Meanwhile the police bought Tom and Ryan to the hospital. One of the first people they saw as they rushed in, was Richard Bridges, my personal physician. He had come to the hospital when he heard that the police thought they had the suspect contained. I found later that I was the lead story in the news that day. I think I prefer anonymity. “Where, where …” was all Tom could get out.

Richard was firm, “Give me five minutes, Tom. Let me check her out. I promise I’ll get you back there in minutes. But wait right now.” He then turned and hurried down the hall.

“We’re not getting a good response,” he was told as he walked in. “She’s not responding to commands.”

Richard came over to me; looking at all the monitors they had me hooked to. He pulled my eyes opened one at a time and shined a light into them. Seeing and hearing Richard gave me hope; this dream didn’t seem to be fading. “Cassie,” he said firmly, “we can’t let Tom back here until we get some cooperation from you.”

Richard addressed the nurse. “I’ve known Cassie for years. If you want to get anything from her you need to wave her husband in her face.” The nurse began questioning me again.

“Can you tell us your name?”

“Cassie Duff.”

“Ms. Duff, do you know where you are?”

“I’m in a hospital.”

“What year is it, ma’am?”

I told them.

Richard spoke then, “How old are you?”

Richard is fully aware I don’t like to say my age in front of anyone.

I slowly turned my head to look at him. He seemed real and I reached out to take hold of the front of his shirt to make sure he didn’t vanish. Holding on to his shirt I told him in a soft voice, “It’s no one’s business how old I am, and if you want to see another birthday go get Tom.” Richard’s booming laughter seemed to fill the hospital.

Saturday Spankings - Tom's worst nightmare

Welcome back to Saturday Spankings – a blog hop I enjoy very much and I’d like to encourage others to join. I’m doing snippets from Cassie’s Ordeal, the 7th in the Cassie’s Space series. Last week Sue realized that Cassie had been taken, presumably by the mysterious caller.

Through the work of several sheriff departments, they now know who has her and where. Tom and Ryan go with the officers to be close at hand. A hostage negotiator speak with the man as Sue and the others, back at the house, listen on a police radio.

Reynolds said nothing, but didn’t hang up. The negotiator continued, “Right now we need to speak with Mrs. Duff. Put her on the phone, we just want to make sure she’s all right. ”

There was a nasty laugh then, “You want to know if she’s all right? She’s just great. You tell old money bags that I’ve really enjoyed my afternoon with her. But I’m afraid Miss Cassie’s tied up at the moment and can’t come to the phone.” And he hung up again. Ryan told us later he wanted to jerk the headphones off Tom. Ryan was nearly sick with dread, but the idea of what Tom was going through was destroying the boy.

They called back. “Mr. Reynolds, this can all be worked out. None of this is irreparable. Is Mrs. Duff hurt? Does she need any medical attention?”

That sickening laugh came again. “You tell Duff she’s just fine. He’ll get her back, maybe a finger one day, a hand the next. I don’t know,” he sneered. “She might be dead. It’s hard to tell with all that blood.”

Tom jerked violently. But then, in the background, they heard Cassie, loud, clear as a bell and angry, “You stop that and let me speak to my husband!”

Then there was a commotion, the phone was dropped and they heard Cassie cry out in pain. Suddenly the radio back at the house where we were listening exploded with chatter. “Hostage under attack! GO! GO! GO!”
