Saturday Spankings - Cassie's on a Tear!

Thank you for coming back for another Saturday Spankings. I hope I’m able to show the overall feel of my Cassie’s Space series and I hope you’ll try one. Each book can be read as a standalone. Today’s snippet comes from the forth book, Cassie’s River Living.
Cassie and Tom are vacationing at a lovely resort, but another couple staying there has had Cassie in a fury for days. The woman is after Tom and has been very brazen and downright vulgar about it. At Tom threat of an all-out rump roasting, Cassie has reluctantly kept her cool. But enough is enough!

I couldn’t believe it, but that horrible woman grabbed a chair from the next table, plopped her behind in it and pulled right up to our table. She actually pushed Sue’s chair to the side as she did so. I was scared for a moment Sue was going to attack before I was able to. Phyllis acknowledged no one else at the table as she grabbed Tom’s arm and stuck her boobs in his face.
I had had plenty of wine earlier, drinks with dinner and Sue’s sympathetic ear all afternoon.
Hairbrush be damned. I had had enough! Now it was time for my say.
“Mrs. Hawkins,” I began.
“Oh honey, you can call me Phyllis,” she interjected, without looking my way.
“There are a great many things I could call you madam, but most of those names aren’t considered proper to use in a polite conversation, so I will just tell you what you need to know.”
I had her attention then, so I continued. “You need to put your drooling tongue back in your mouth, your mascara spider eyes back into your head and your fake boobs back into that cheap dress that is two sizes too small for you. The man you are so eagerly pawing is my husband and although he rarely needs rescuing, I am stepping in because he is too much of a gentleman to know how to get rid of a cheap slut who clings like lint. So, I am telling you straight out – keep away from both of us. It’s not normally my job to take out the trash, but trust me, if you lay one more finger on my husband, I will take you out.”

Saturday Spankings - Cassie's Reasons

I’m happy to have you here for another Saturday Spankings. I’m enjoying working my way through the Cassie Space Series and I continue to write about the Cassie and all her family at the river. It’s a bit of a slow process right now. Today’s snippet is from the fourth book, Cassie’s River Living.
I’m continuing with the conversating I began last week, where Cassie is trying to explain the domestic discipline lifestyle to Allie. I think Allie has some vital questions and I’m glad Cassie only tried to answer for herself – because everyone has their own reasons.

Allie had more questions. “But what I don’t understand is why Tom has the right to tell you what you can do or not do. If he’d taken the boat out yesterday, it would have been fine. If he’d gotten stuck in that house a few months back, you wouldn’t have fussed at him. I know he’s the man and all, but being a man doesn’t give them the God given right to boss women around and make them ‘mind’. We have brains too, you know. You’re just as smart and sensible as Tom is. Why does he have the right to tell you what to do and spank you if you don’t listen? They‘re not always right just because they’re men. I just don’t get it.”
I had the feeling we were no longer talking about just Tom and me and I wondered again what was going on with her and Ryan. But I wasn’t quite ready to ask.
“Allie, those are reasonable questions, but I can only answer them for Tom and me. After my first husband died, I lived on my own for five years. I had no money worries and for the first time in my life I was free from anyone’s rules or authority. I could do anything I wanted to and, oh my, I did. Honey, I went so wild I’m surprised I survived it. I nearly didn’t. When Tom came along, I was drinking too much and living very recklessly. For reasons I’ll never understand, Tom fell in love with me. However, he hated the way I acted. He thought of me as a lovely lady, although I didn’t act like one at the time. Once we began dating, he made it quite clear he expected me to act like a lady. What he fussed about the most at first was the way I cursed and I did curse like a sailor.”
Allie burst out laughing at this. “Cassie, I cannot imagine you cussing! You’re always the perfect lady.”
“Oh my.” I laughed, as I told her, “I guess I can play the part well now. But what I want you to understand is that in my case, I was out of control, and I needed the stability Tom provided. Because of Tom’s willingness to love and protect me the way he has all our lives, I’ve been able live life to the fullest always knowing Tom was there as my protector. Having him ‘be the boss’ works for us. I can’t say I don’t fight against it sometimes, and I know this would not be for everyone. But truly, I’m perfectly content.”

When rumors of twenty-three-year-old orphan Pepper Thornback’s incredible healing abilities reach the ruling Tribunal, Commander Quinn Garrick sets out to bring her to the capital. Pepper is given no choice in the matter, and when she attempts an escape during the journey she is taken over his knee for a sound spanking and then stripped bare for a painful, embarrassing switching.

More humiliating still, upon reaching their destination Quinn informs Pepper that she will be his ward for the duration of her stay and he will not hesitate to deal firmly with any disobedience.

Despite her blushing indignation at being treated in such a shameful manner, Quinn’s stern dominance arouses Pepper deeply, and when he takes her in his arms and claims her properly she is left utterly spent and satisfied. But when Pepper makes a shocking discovery concerning the fate of her parents, will the revelation strengthen her bond with Quinn or tear them apart forever?

Excerpt:

Back home, Quinn led Pepper into his study. He sat down in his armchair and pulled her on his lap, holding her in a gentle embrace.
“I want to spank you tonight. You said yes. Did you mean it?”
“I did,” she said. “But why?”
“You’re asking me why you said yes?” He sounded amused.
She laughed. “No. I’m asking you why you wanted to.”
“Because I want to leave my mark on you. I want to claim you as mine. Again. I’ll ask you the same question: why did you say yes?”
She exhaled a heavy sigh and, for the first time that night, her shoulders slumped. Her body curled into a small C. “Ever since Ezmar and Renee persuaded me to get this dress, I’ve been nervous. When I stepped onto the red carpet at the theater and saw all those people gawking at us, my worry went through the roof. Right until the music started, I was wound up as tight as a spring. When you suggested the spanking, I was hypnotized by the beauty of the moment. I’d never felt anything like being in that theater with such beautiful music washing through me.”
“And?”
“The music reminded me of being spanked, the change in pace, the change in energy. It made me long for the surrender that I’ve only ever felt with you. I can’t explain it but when I’m over your knee, submitting to you, I feel freer than at any other time. I don’t like the pain. I’d do anything to stop it while it’s happening, but I like the letting go, the being whole in the moment with you.”
This was what Quinn had been waiting for. He hadn’t wanted to seduce her when she was under duress. He’d been hoping for a sign that she liked the things he liked.
Now it was here. She was telling him that she wanted to be spanked. But he wanted her to say it out loud and unambiguously. “Then I should spank you tonight?”
“Yes. I think it would be a good idea. Especially if you want me with you tomorrow to welcome the admiral and princess. The music relaxed me, but the spanking will stay with me longer.” She turned her head away shyly, as if embarrassed by her own desire. He guided her face back to his and kissed her tenderly and long.
She raked her hands through his hair. “You have beautiful hair,” she whispered, nibbling his earlobe. “I love it when it’s wild like this.”
Her warm breath on his neck sent a shiver down his spine. That was the other signal he’d been waiting for: that she wanted more than just the release of a spanking. She wanted him, his cock. His seed inside her.
He covered his lust with a light chuckle. “It’s late and we have to be up early tomorrow. What must be at last should happen soon. Now in fact. But not here. My bedroom is a better place for what is to follow.”

Libby Campbell in her own words:
My romance novels feature strong, self-reliant women and the powerful men who love them. Romantic by nature, I write the stories I want to read: those that feature a spicy power exchange and deliver a sting in the tale.
Canadian by birth, I also lived in Australia for a couple of decades. While living there I overcame my aversion to saucer-sized spiders and, as a condition of marriage to my Aussie Prince Charming, I swore a lifelong allegiance to the Melbourne Football Club.
Then family called and my husband and I packed up and moved. We now live on a rocky island on Canada’s West Coast, close to beaches that once were frequented by smugglers and rumrunners.
My passions are reading and writing. I adore all animals and love hiking, beachcombing, and an occasional night of dancing.

Question and answers with Libby Campbell

What was your inspiration for this book?
I planned the entire series about a year ago and sketched out the different continents then. So At that time, I envisioned Elsinania’s culture as being well regulated and harmonious on the surface but troubled when examined closer.
Of course the pandemic in the series is much milder than anything we are seeing here now but at first the coincidence unnerved me a lot.
In this book, it was great fun setting the daughter of a dissident on a collision course with the authoritarian commander.

Why fantasy?
Sometimes I find planet earth a bit of a discouraging place. I wanted to create an escape, another world, with problems that are resolved and happy ever after moments.
I made that decision long before the bumping and bruising ride that arrived with the COVID19 virus. Now more than ever we need an escape. At least I do.

Colored socks?

That little detail was borrowed from a certain religious sect here in Canada. One of my friends grew up on a farm next to their communal property. The girls were only allowed bright colored socks until they were married. He told me that the girl who wore most shocking, brightest socks always flirted with him. Pepper isn’t that boy-crazy but she liked her bright socks as a way of personal expression.

What is the best part of writing?

Getting a new idea and running with it. Book 3 in this series, Bound To The Sheriff, is almost complete. It’s the first book I’ve ever written with no specific plotting.
I got one image of the opening scene and built the rest of it from there.
The process has been like riding a bike downhill really fast, wondering if I’m doing to crash or just have a breathtaking joy ride. So far it’s mostly been a joy ride.
Of course, the very best part of writing is hearing from readers who’ve enjoyed my books. Those kind comments are like Christmas, birthday, and the end of social distancing all in one package!

What is the hardest part of writing?

Writing.

Saturday Spankings - There's hitting and then there's spanking

It’s Saturday again and welcome back to Saturday Spankings. I’m taking a leisurely look back through my Cassie’s Space series. We’re in the fourth book now, Cassie’s River Living. In this book I took a look at the spanking lifestyle and thought of how it could be explained to others.
Tom has shared with Ryan about the lifestyle and the benefits he feels this way of handling problems can bring. Ryan shares this information with Allie and she it stunned and angry that Tom would dare ‘hit’ Cassie. Cassie must find a way to explain the whole thing to Allie. It was a long and interesting conversation, but here’s a snippet.

“Now, young lady, you said something about Tom ‘hitting’ me. I don’t ever want to hear that from you again. Tom does not ‘hit’ me and never has. I’m sure you’ve seen men yelling at their wife either in real life or on TV. It’s not a pretty sight. My first husband yelled at me. He screamed, cursed and called me ugly, foul names. Many days it went on for hours. Tom never yells at me. But suppose Tom was several houses away when he saw me standing in the road with a car coming. You have to know he’s going to raise his voice to whatever level he needs to give me a warning. So, where he is technically yelling, you still wouldn’t say, Tom yells at his wife.”
Allie nodded and I went on.
“That’s the same difference between hitting and spanking. My first husband hit me. Tom would never, ever do that. He would, and does, spank me occasionally to get my attention and keep me safe. But you have to understand hitting and spanking are two totally different things.”
