Z is for Zzzzzzz…

I do love a good nap. Yes I know we’ve come to the end of June and a blog a day for the whole month, but I didn’t find that tiring. I love blogging and connecting with people out here. But when it comes to catching Z’s, really napping or that in between awake and asleep time is when I do my best writing. My characters talk to me then and they always do better when I don’t consciously try to direct them.

As this month comes to a close I want to thank each and every person who has stopped by to say hello. I’ve made some new friends along the way and I hope to keep in touch. I will try to post more here and I hope to be here for most Saturday Spankings. Thanks for a great month!

Y is for Yelling

Some people want to be spanked until they cry. I’d love that myself, but I’ve come to the conclusion that’s not going to happen. I would love to be able to yell, though. I don’t. You see the problem is that if I yell ‘Stop!’ or ‘Enough!’ or even ‘Oww…’ Nick will stop. I don’t want him to stop, I just want to be able to yell.

I don’t like to lose control. What if I lose control and I can’t get it back? I even gave birth to both my children during that brief window when mothers were made to feel guilty if they took anything for pain, “Don’t you want your child to come into the world totally drug free?” I bought that crap and went through totally natural childbirth – twice! Never made a sound other than to ask for ice chips and a cold cloth for my face. I had to concentrate to manage everything.

So for me yelling equals a loss of control, something I long to be able to do, but I still can’t seem to.  So I want Nick to spank me until I cry or yell for him to stop, and I want him not to stop – unless. Of course, it’s hurting and then certainly I want him to stop.

Megan Michaels said it well in a comment last week, “My fantasy is true discipline that makes me cry--but doesn't hurt really bad.” That’s what I want! I think it’s one great shortcoming of the male of the species that they can’t read minds. They need to work on that.

Saturday Spankings - June 28

I’m still on vacation and I hope the posts are still coming up each day as they’re supposed to. I really enjoy Saturday Spankings, I hope to get to all your snippets once we get home. I love putting up my snippets and I love adding to my TBR list.
I’m once again in my first book, Cassie’s Space. I’m hoping some will want all the details of how Cassie and Tom met. They had been dating only a few weeks when, while on a picnic, Tom has called her down several times for using ugly language. After the last reprimand Cassie answers with, “You don’t like the way I talk? Shit, shit, shit! I’ll say anything I damn well please.” In essence, telling him there was nothing he could do about it. Cassie was wrong and this snippet takes place immediately after Cassie’s first ever spanking.
When he finally stopped, I still shook with rage and jerked trying to get away. Tom began rubbing my bottom gently, with the hand he had just used to burn me up. “Are you okay?” he asked gently.
Of course I was not okay, he’d just spanked me. But I had heard genuine compassion in his voice and that only served to confuse me further. Tom helped me to my feet and held me firmly at arm’s length.
“Look at me,” he said quietly and I glared at him, letting my fury show clearly.
He looked at me steadily with those incredible blue eyes: the look on his face bewildered me. In his face I saw understanding, concern, and caring. His look mesmerized me, and then very gently he asked me a question that changed my life.
“Cassie, has no one ever cared for you enough to make you behave yourself?”

Meet Cassie, a former wild child, who meets her match, and creates the match of a lifetime. To nearly all who know her now, Cassie is a vivacious, sweet southern lady, who is the epitome of grace and proper behavior. Look a tiny bit closer and you’ll see that Cassie has another side – the one whose language could make a sailor blush as she drinks him under the table.
Thanks to her loving husband Tom, who even after thirty years of marriage, never hesitates to put Cassie over his knee when she strays too far from his view of ladylike behavior, few people other than close old friends know this side of Cassie exists.
Cassie and Tom show that love and passion are not the sole property of the young. Love and passion grows and changes with age. While aging may bring on challenges – the love and passion between these two people only grows stronger.

You can read on about Cassie and friends in

Don't forget to check out all the snippets out here this week.

X is for Xanthippe

Yeah I’m showing off my education, although the only reason I know of this ‘lady’ is because we changed my curriculum so that I now teach ancient history. Xanthippe was the wife of the great teacher Socrates of ancient Greece.  And let me tell you, no one needed a spanking more than this hateful witch. She has often been described as a screw, as scold, and a nag. No wonder he spent so much time teaching in the streets of Athens – the poor man didn’t want to go home.

He might have been better off to go home and beat her ass good several times. I bet we all know of some couple like this. I see people everywhere, the mall, the drugstore, even church where I want to go put a bug in the guys ear. No, I never would. But there surely are many out there who could benefit from a good, hard spanking!

W is for Whirlwind

This month has been a whirlwind, getting a post up every day. But my whirlwind began a while back. Ten years ago I was a Daughter, a Mother, a Teacher and then with a little letter, a wife. The whirlwind that started when I came out to Nick is still going on. Our marriage is happy and exciting. Coming out also opened the floodgates for writing, for sure.

Writing the Cassie books is so much fun, and to actually become a published author has definitely been a whirlwind! Learning about editing, publishing, promoting… there is a lot to learn and I haven’t learned it all by any means. I’m still in the whirlwind and I’m still enjoying it.

V is for vacation

Nick and I are heading off on vacation. We actually left yesterday morning. We’re taking a cruise, the first time we are cruising without children. It’s just the two of us. When we first had kids we promised one another that as much as we loved them, we were still going to take time for ourselves and that would definitely include little weekend trips. And sure enough, when the youngest was nearly seventeen we finally took one. Okay we we’re pathetic. We didn’t do so well with that when they were little, so hopefully we’ll make up for it as empty nesters.

I still want to finish the A to Z challenge and continue to post every day this month, but I may not be around to read any of you posts or answer my comments. I’m usually a stickler for answering my comments. If you take the time to come by and speak to me, I’m not going to ignore you. But I’m not really that good on the phone, and we’ll be out of the country for a while and, most important, I think I'm going to spend most of my time concentrate on my husband instead of blogland. It’s high time I do that and he more than deserving! So I have post ready to go up and I hope you’ll still come by, but you probably won’t hear from me much until July.

U is for undies

I must say that sexy undies are everywhere you look these days. My undies used to be sexier, but I’m a real live woman. I’m not a size two and I actually do thing during the day other that pose like a statue, so I’m probably not going to wear any of these.

I’m married to a real life man, a busy man – he goes to work each day and continues working once he comes home, in the yard, in the house and I don’t think he’ll be wearing any of these

I’m most grateful that beauty and sexy is in the eye of the beholder so I
think we’ll stick with something more like these.

T is for Tom

Cassie’s husband, Tom, is certainly a central character in the books. All of the Cassie books are told from her point of view. Tom writes a letter at the end of the first book, but other than that we really know very little of what he is thinking. All we know for sure is that he love Cassie madly and want’s to keep her safe, healthy and happy.

My feelings for Tom are complex. I do love him, yet I most definitely would not want to be married to him. He’s way too strict for my taste and spanks too hard. But the idea of being the focus of such love and devotion – I mean what woman wouldn’t be attracted to that?

I’ve found that many of my readers often have strong feelings about Tom. Many who love Cassie, just don’t really like Tom. Others have told me he is their ultimate dream man. I guess I go with dream man – perfect in loyalty, perfect in consistency, perfect in love … perfect for Cassie. But I’ll leave him in dreamland. My Nick is a better reality.

Do you have an opinion of Tom?

S is for Spotlight on ...

Cara Bristol

Cara Bristol's new book Long Shot is out now, and I do want to spot light that today, but I also have to give a big shout out to her Breeders series. Not being a big Sci-fi fan myself I didn't plan on reading them at first glance. But the snippets from Saturday Spankings were so interesting I just had to. I ended up loving them! So as you work your way through your summer reading list don't forget Breeders and the second in the series Terran!

And now more about Cara and Long Shot...

Abigail Delaney works at her great aunts antique store, which carries vintage spanking implements. She is arranging the paddles and canes when Harris Montgomery, a sexy guy she’s met only once, comes in and buys a spanking bench. In this scene from Long Shot, Cara Bristol’s new Corbin’s Bend spanking romance, Harris tells Abby to pick out a paddle to go with the bench.

An excerpt from Long Shot by Cara Bristol

She wet her lips and looked everywhere but at him. “What kind of paddle would you prefer?”
“What kind would you recommend?” he countered, knowing full well she had no idea of the differences.
“Well…” Abby moved to the wall where she’d hung the paddles carefully on coat racks. “We have uh, this kind.” She pointed to a smooth wooden ping pong style.
“A solid choice to cover a lot of surface area,” he said. “What else?”
“This one has holes.” She gestured to another.
He shook his head. “Too stingy.” For a beginner. Abby might have a secret spanking fetish, but she was still a virgin, so to speak.
“They’re all here.” Blushing profusely, she swept a graceful arm across the row of paddles like Vanna White lighting up a new Wheel of Fortune puzzle. “And over there.” She gestured to a washstand upon which several more rested and hung from the carved towel holder.
“That one’s leather.” She unhooked a more generous oblong-shaped one, and traced the edge before smoothing her hand over the flat surface. He’d been right about her liking for leather. He suppressed a grin and watched her caress the paddle blade. Her skin appeared pale next to the darkness of the hide, her nails on the short side, but painted pink. Spanked ass pink. He bit back a growl.
“Let me see.” Harris stepped over a pile of wadded newspapers. His cock pressed against the zipper of his jeans. He allowed his gaze to slide down to her chest, rising and falling. Her nipples formed beads underneath her ecru lace poet-style blouse. Leather and lace. Hard and soft. Masculine and feminine. Sexy.
He scanned her face. An answering desire swirled in her hazel eyes, but she wet her lips nervously. Seeing her tiny tongue flick over her lips cinched his intention. He’d offered to buy the bench on a whim, on a fantasy. But he would see her kneeling over it.
As he took the paddle, he allowed a finger to brush against the softness of hers. He squeezed the reinforced handle, testing the grip. Good fit. Abby’s mouth had parted, and her eyes riveted on the implement.
He snapped it against his thigh. CRACK! Abby jumped. His cock ached.
“This one.” He decided. “How much?” Didn’t matter. He’d pay any price. Seeing the fascination on her face made it worth any and every penny she asked.
“Sixty dollars.”
“You don’t need to check with your aunt?” he teased.
“She gave me carte blanche to price smaller items.”
He pulled out his wallet and handed his credit card and the paddle. “I’ll carry the bench to the register.”
Abby scurried to the front and rang up his purchases, using both an old manual cash register and a very modern credit card scanner. With amusement, he watched as she wrapped the paddle in tissue paper as if it was a fine piece of china and then bagged it.
“Thank you for shopping at Auntie Q’s,” she said politely.
Harris tucked his swaddled purchase under his arm, then picked up the bench. She hurried ahead to open the door.
He peered down at her. “Have you ever been spanked, Abby Delaney?” he asked in low voice.
Long Shot blurb
Abby Delaney moves to Corbin’s Bend to work at her aunt’s antique store to recover from a painful divorce. She gets more than expected when she meets sexy, charming Harris Montgomery, a local businessman and tennis pro, a man who seems to be the exact opposite of her ex-husband. Through Harris, she discovers her submissive side when he introduces her to spanking good times, and she begins to trust herself again.  But when the relationship progresses to a deeper level, she discovers Harris and her ex share more in common than she’d thought. With future happiness on the line, can she risk surrendering her heart on a long shot?
