Saturday Spankings - So much worse than spanking

Welcome to Saturday Spankings! I’m heading to our local bookstore for a book signing today. It’s a small town, and a small bookstore, but I’m still excited that they're having me. But first, here’s a snippet from Suspicions on the River.

Cassie and Sue were hurt on their girls’ trip and came home looking like they had been in a prize fight and lost. Tom can barely look at Cassie and he’s furious with both her and all the ladies on the trip. Every time Cassie tries to speak with him, he turns away to do something else. He asks Lily to help her get ready for bed and she reports to him that Cassie is just sitting in a chair and won’t get in bed because, Lily repeated, “She won’t sleep with no stranger.”

It was nearly an hour later before he got up to go to bed. He closed the bathroom door quietly, hoping not to wake his wife. Coming out wearing his sleep pants and no shirt, he saw that Cassie had turned on the lamp beside her. They locked eyes, tears spilling from hers down her bruised and battered face. After a moment Tom went to her and took her hand to help her rise. Then he sat and gently helped her to sit on his lap.

“Tell me if I’m hurting you,” he said, mindful of all her injuries.

“You’ve been hurting me since the moment we got home,” she told him quietly through her tears.

“I don’t know what to say. I’m still so angry.”

“Tom, I don’t care what you say, yell at me, scream at me. Take the damn brush and spank me until your arm’s tired. But please, please don’t cut me off. Don’t turn away from me. I can’t stand the feeling of abandonment. Don’t stop loving me,” Cassie begged with a sob. She grabbed another tissue and turned off the lamp at the same time. She didn’t want Tom to be able to see her face.

“Oh, Cassie… How can you say that? I couldn’t stop loving you if I tried with every fiber of my being. But when I feel this angry with you and the others I truly don’t know what to do.”

“Tom, all I want right now is for you to be you again. Please,” she begged.

“For me to be me… hmm…” Tom fell quiet for a long time. When he spoke again he told her, “Fine, I’ll be me. As soon as these bruises heal I want you to know that I’m going to wear you out and I don’t mean maybe. I know how much you hate having a spanking hanging over your head and I don’t care. This spanking isn’t for taking the balloon ride. It’s for not calling and telling me what happened to you as soon as you could get to a phone. It’s for calling me afterwards and still not telling me and it’s for not taking my facetime call when you all were in the car. And girl, I’ll tell you right now, I know you dread a spanking that will come later – this one’s going to be one you should dread.”

Cassie felt a slight shudder from head to toe. She sat up on Tom’s lap searching for his eyes in the darkness. What he was saying sounded horrible yet at that moment she could feel contentment coming back to her.

“Let’s go to bed,” he proposed, helping her to her feet. He gently removed her gown and tucked her in. Cassie painfully worked her way to the middle of the bed where Tom wrapped his arm ever so gently around her.

She hurt all over. Tom was still mad at her, she knew. He was furious with her friends, her beloved girls’ trips were hanging by a thread and he was going to incinerate her butt as soon as she healed. All these thoughts swirled in her head.  But at that moment, pressed back against Tom and feeling his arm around her, she was the happiest woman in the world.

Blurb

While he is no stranger to pleasurable company from ladies of the night, Major Richard Rothbury of the royal dragoons is not the kind of man who will stand idly by as a woman is taken against her will, and when he witnesses a disreputable cad attempting to force himself on a girl in a back alley, he does not hesitate to intervene.

But after the grateful young woman offers herself to Rothbury, he is shocked to discover that not only was she no harlot, she was a maiden and he has deflowered her. Furious at the girl’s scandalous behavior and her carelessness with her own safety, Rothbury chastises her soundly.

Though she is due to inherit one of the largest fortunes in England, the fact that she cannot touch the money until she marries or turns thirty has kept Elizabeth completely at the mercy of her cruel uncle, and for years she has been treated as if she were a servant. Her encounter with Lord Rothbury is by far the most exciting thing that has ever happened to her, but while he shows great concern for her safety, he refuses to believe that she is anything more than a serving girl.

Despite having made it clear that he doesn’t consider a match between them to be possible, when Elizabeth disobeys him Rothbury proves more than ready to strip her bare, punish her harshly, and then enjoy her beautiful body in the most shameful of ways. But can she dare to hope that he will one day make her his wife, or is she destined to spend her life being wickedly used?

Publisher’s Note: Wickedly Used: A Dark Regency Romance includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

Excerpt

“Go into the tack room and undress. Once you’re naked, stand in the corner with your nose against the wall.”

What? Why would I do anything so senseless and demeaning? “Have you run mad? I’m not undressing for you anywhere, least of all where anyone can walk in.”

He looked like an ice demon out for vengeance. His intensity made her quake inside.

Clearly furious, he turned toward her. “Last night, I promised you I’d blister your behind if you didn’t mend your ways. Do as you’re told or your punishment will be ten times worse.”

She looked toward the stable entrance and considered bolting. Whatever Rothbury had planned, it would make her behind sore. Only, his gaze held a promise of something sensual and wicked.

She walked into the tack room like a temptress teasing her lover. Head high despite her fears, she slid her arms out of her woolen gown. Kicking off her shoes, she pulled her coarse linen chemise over her head. Vulnerable but excited, she stood naked in a public stable.

The thought of strangers walking in on her and Rothbury felt wicked but titillating. Her gaze shot between the rear corner and the door, but she’d made her choice when she stripped off her clothes. Slow and reluctant, she moved into the corner and stood with her nose against the wall.

She shivered with anticipation. Her pussy grew damp with need. Where is he? And what will he do? How long will he leave me standing here like this? The tack room door closed with a bang, but she stayed with her nose to the wall and waited.

She heard Rothbury moving behind her, but he didn’t speak. Finally, he moved so close that he pressed her bare body against the wooden wall. Something, maybe his cravat, covered her eyes and the world went dark. Shivers of anticipation ran through her body.

He penned her in the corner and pulled the pins from her hair. Turning her, he bound her wrists before her in what felt like a length of leather leading rein. After checking it wasn’t too tight, he put one arm around her waist and walked her to the center of the room.

Pulling her arms overhead, he fastened the leather strap around her wrists over a hook in the ceiling. Stretched out for his pleasure, she couldn’t move. Arms bound overhead, blindfolded, and naked, her excitement mounted as she wondered what he’d do next.

Questions and Answers

1          Give us an insight into your main character. What does he/she do that is so special?

My heroine, Lady Elizabeth Blayneton is an heiress, but she can’t inherit until she marries or turns thirty. Her uncle and guardian is determined she will marry his slack-mouthed son, but she’d rather stay single than wed him. Only she doesn’t want to die a virgin.

2          Tell us about your hero.

Brigade Major Lord Rothbury carries the wounds his first love inflicted when she threw him over for his father. To silence the gossip, his father packed him off to fight in the Peninsula war and squandered the family fortune on his new bride. When the current Lord Rothbury inherited, there was nothing but mortgages and debts. He’s been trying to put things right and provide for his sisters ever since. Waterloo looms, and he’s recalled to Wellington’s staff. Then there’s this serving girl who keeps ending up in his bed, only wedding her would cause another scandal and ruin his sisters’ future.

3          What genre are your books?

I write romance. Any sort. Paranormal or contemporary. Wickedly Used is my first Regency Romance, although it’s darker than many.

4.         What draws you to this genre?

I write the books I like to read. There’s always a strong plot, with lots of adventure. Then there’s the sex. My pet hate is cliff hangers. Each book in either of my series can be read as stand-alone romance. Add in that I’m a sucker for a happy-ever-after, and you’ve got my writing style.

More about Kryssie Fortune.

Kryssie reads everything and anything, from literary fiction to sizzling romance. Her earliest memory is going to the library with her mother. She can’t have been more than two at the time. Reading, especially when a book’s hot and explicit, is more than a guilty pleasure. It’s an obsession.

Kryssie loves to visit historic sites, from Hadrian’s wall to Regency Bath. The first book she fell in love with was Georgette Heyer’s The Unkown Ajax. After that, she devoured every regency book she could. After a while, they went out of fashion, but part of Kryssie’s psyche lives in in in Regency London. She longs to dance quadrilles and flirt behind fans. Of course, Kryssie’s heroines do far more than flirt.

Kryssie lives in Bridlington on the Yorkshire coast –about thirty miles from Whitby, where Bram Stoker wrote Dracula. She enjoys gardening, travel, and socializing with her author friends. You’d be surprised how many erotic romance authors live in the North of England.

Saturday Spankings - Alive and ...well?

Happy Saturday Spankings!  It’s beautiful spring where I am and it’s time to grab a good book and sit in the sun to read. I’ll suggest Suspicions on the River, where my snippet comes from today.

The girls have an accident while on a trip to the beach. Cassie and Sue are bruised from head to toe and sore as a boil. Cassie knows she has to talk to Tom, but she’s not looking forward to what he’ll have to say.

Cassie announced, “I can’t stand it. I’m calling Tom.” Allie helped her stand but left her to make her way to the bedroom so she could talk to him in private.

“He is not going to be a happy man,” Annie pointed out.

“You can say that again,” Jenny agreed. “But there’s no way he’d… you know, with her hurt and all. Right?”

“He’s worse when he can’t spank,” Sue pointed out. “He’s devious. Once when she got hurt playing with paint balls he cut her off from all of us for two weeks. No visits, no phone calls, no texts. That one was hard on all of us.”

“But he did promise never to do that again,” Allie pointed out.

No one said anymore until Cassie joined them. They could all tell that the call had upset her. She walked slowly to her chair where Allie helped her sit.

They waited a moment and when she said nothing, Jenny prodded, “What did he say?”

Cassie looked away, not answering. “Mom, tell us,” Allie insisted.

It was Sue who spoke up. “She didn’t tell him,” she announced. Everyone looked at Sue, again marveling at her ability to read her oldest friend.

“Is she right?” Allie questioned.

“I just couldn’t!” Cassie wailed. “He sounded so happy when he heard my voice. And he was telling me all that Christian was doing – he’s just fine, by the way,” she interrupted herself to reassure Allie. “But I just didn’t know how to start. Listen, just tell your husbands whatever you want to. Then one of them can tell Tom if they want to. I’ll call when we get close to home tomorrow.”

Allie gave a big sigh. “No, let’s all just wait. If Tom hears it from anyone but Cassie, he’ll be even madder. Let’s stick with the ‘one for all, all for one’ thing. They’ll see us alive and well when we get there tomorrow. Well…” she paused looking at Cassie and Sue, “alive anyway.”

Saturday Spankings - Annie's right?

Happy Saturday Spankings Day. This snipped comes from Suspicions on the River. While on a girls’ trip the women argue over something Cassie wants to do even though she knows that if Tom finds out there will be a serious spanking in her future. Annie and Allie accuse Cassie and Sue of secretly enjoying that type of spanking, but point out that they are endangering the others, who are not fond of serious spankings. Cassie and Sue are still angry as they head to bed.

Cassie and Sue exchanged looks. Both women were angry as they got ready to sleep. Once in bed, they lay silently in the darkness wide awake, neither speaking for nearly an hour. Then as though they’d been discussing it the whole time, Cassie spoke into the darkness. “Annie’s crazy. Why would she say that?”

“Exactly,” Sue agreed. “She doesn’t know what goes on in our marriages. Usually it’s all play spankings at our house. I hate it when Steve is really upset about something and it’s a real spanking. Annie knows nothing.”

“She knows how I feel about that damned ivory brush! How could she call ‘bullshit’ when I say I only enjoy spanking when it’s lighthearted fun or for sexy reasons?” Cassie asked rhetorically. The women lapsed back into silence.

Sue’s silhouette was barely visible to Cassie in the darkness. But in the dim light she watched as her friend sat up and rearranged her pillows. “I’m lying,” Sue said quietly. “When Steve spanks me for real, I do like it. Not the spanking itself,” she hastened to add. “But all that comes with it.”

Cassie was silent. Sue never discussed any details of any of her spankings. Everyone could tell by the sour look on Sue’s face after she’d been spanked for real, but nothing was said. Now, she wanted to talk.

“You know during most of the time Steve and I have been together we haven’t been all that close. Not like you and Tom. I wanted it, but I didn’t know how to get there. When we had those big fights, we would scream horrible things to each other. Well, it was mostly me saying the nasty stuff. The fights usually ended in a mutual, ‘Fuck you!’ and then we wouldn’t talk for days. That never happens anymore.”

Sue laughed suddenly. “I could use a cigarette about now, if I still smoked.”

“You have enough bad habits without that,” Cassie pointed out, grinning to herself.

Sue went on. “But now, when I do something stupid with you or I say something really out of line to him and he gets that look in his eye and takes me to the bedroom, it’s like he’s fighting for us. It hurts like hell when he uses that damn paddle full force. But it doesn’t hurt as much as the ‘fuck you’ used to.”

Cassie sat up further in the bed but remained silent. Sue was opening up in a way that was rare for her.

“But when it’s all over, hell, Cassie, sometimes I even cry. When he holds me and tells me he loves me… at that moment I know I’m the only one in his world. I wouldn’t trade that for anything. It’s all I ever really wanted.”

After another long silence Cassie told her, “I know. I know exactly what you mean. So…” There was another pause. “Annie’s right?”

“Of course Annie’s right,” Sue snapped. “Annie’s always right! But I’ll be damned if I’ll admit it to her!”

Chuckling, Cassie got up to go to the bathroom. When she came back to bed, Sue reached out and took her hand. “You know you’re the only one in the world I’d say all that to.”

Cassie gave Sue’s hand a squeeze as she reached over and kissed her on the cheek. “I know,” she told her friend, “but we’ll never admit it to another soul.”
