Saturday Spankings - hopefully!

Welcome to Saturday Spankings! I love that we can share news about our writing here and I do have something to share – it’s almost here! The forth book, Cassie’s River Living, will be out on September 3^rd. I received the cover just a few days ago and I truly love it. It seems to capture the peace and tranquility Tom is always dreaming of, but peace and tranquility are sometime hard to find when Cassie and Sue get together.

This snippet takes place later in the day from by last snippet. On one of their regular walks the girls explore a house under construction and manage to become stuck in a room of the house, leaving Willow to whine anxiously at the door.

Sue finally ordered, “Would you just get on the phone and call somebody to get us out of here?”

I definitely wanted to keep the boys out of this, maybe I could get Kate or Allie. I reached for my phone when it hit me, “Oh dear…”

“What?” asked Sue, instantly alert, “you told me you had your phone.”

“I do,” I assured her. “It’s just that… well … ummm… It’s in Willow’s backpack.”

“It’s where?”

“I put it in the backpack that I put on Willow – she like to wear it so I always put my phone, ID and a bottle of water in there.”

“The stupid dog has the phone?” Sue snapped.

“She’s not stupid!” I roared.

“Fine,” Sue nearly hissed. “The dog is brilliant. So why don’t you shout our there to old Lassie that she needs to get on the phone and let somebody know that Timmy fell in the damn well!”

* I've really been battling with blogger this morning. I had to delete and repost everything and I lost the comments I had - I hate that. I'm just hoping this works.

Saturday Spanking - August, 16

     Happy Saturday! I’m so happy to be able to share some snippets from the latest Cassie book, Cassie’s River Living! Everything is so very close, but just out of reach – I am expecting the cover art and the release date very soon, but I don’t have it quite yet. Nevertheless, I’m putting up a snippet today. I’m also about to get myself in trouble with Mistress Blake, because I running a little over today. I’m hoping she will either forgive me or at least come after me with something leather!

In today’s snipped Cassie has been complaining, once again, about Tom working and has pestered him so about getting home on time for their dinner reservations, that he gave her a hard swat. He goes on to tell her…

“Look, Miss Bossy,” he began, “if I have to take the time this morning to remind you who is in charge around here I’m going to be late to work and there is no telling when I’ll get home. So you just better settle down. Hear me?”

Well I heard one word all right. “Bossy? Bossy! Me? Look who’s calling the kettle black. You think you should control everything. I have never met anyone in my life as bossy as you.”

Tom gave me a hug while I was still rubbing my sore seat. “Ahh, but Cassie, there is a difference. I am the boss. And I think sometimes you forget that fact. Let me reassure you I will not only be home in time to make our dinner reservations, but I will be here in time to give you a clear picture of who is in charge in this house. I hope for your sake that the restaurant has comfortable chairs.”

That kind of talk always makes me squirm, especially when it’s something that will happen at a later time and not immediately. My answer was muffled into his chest as I said in a soft voice, “I know who’s in charge.”

Tom tilted my face up and said, “A little reminder every once in a while never hurt anyone.”

Never hurt? Evidently he’s never felt a reminder from my side. But I could feel tingles of excitement anyway. “Darn it, Tom,” I said as he let go of me and reached for his keys. “Now I really don’t want you to go. How about being late this morning?”

Tom stopped long enough to give me a lingering kiss, which did absolutely nothing to calm the tingles. “I will expect you in the bedroom waiting for me at five sharp. Don’t be late.” And he was out the door and gone.

Cassie and Tom show that love and passion are not the sole property of the young. Love and passion grows and changes with age. While aging may bring on challenges – the love and passion between these two people only grows stronger.

Cassie's Tale

Cassie continues to live life to the fullest, from wheeling around in her new sports car to mastering the art of riding a motor scooter with no hands, she manages to keep Tom on his toes. The fly in the ointment is that Tom’s firm wants him back for a project and Cassie wants him all to herself.  When Tom takes the job, Cassie is left lonely and bored – never a good combination for her.

Left to her own devices Cassie makes some poor decisions, frightening Sue and causing Tom to lower the boom. Tom's new schedule for Cassie, including her getting a job, leaves her little time to get herself in trouble – yet she still manages.

 Cassie on the Move

Cassie’s on the move and loving life. Through paint ball game in the woods and water park adventure she’s gets to know her new neighbors as the new house is renovated. 

     Cassie is traveling too, from trips with just the girls, to conventions, vacations, and cruises with Tom and friends, she's always ready for the next adventure. But when Cassie begins having dizzy spells Tom thinks a slower pace is in order. Getting Cassie to slow down and take care of herself proves to be quite a challenge. A challenge Tom is more than determined to take on.

I do love a love story! Breath Each Other In

I don’t know if there is a ‘proper’ way to write a review. There probably is, but I don’t know it. As for me all I can do is tell you about the books I like and why I like them. We all have certain genre that we might call our favorite.  I could have said all my life that spanking romance was my favorite, but for much of my life, I didn’t know it existed. Once I discovered it, my horizons have opened. I would never have said gay spanking romance were my cup of tea, but that was before I ran across the work of Thianna D.

Thianna amazing ability to tell a story made Christian and Logan come alive in her trilogy, All They Ever Needed. There is realism in these books that drew me like a magnet. Both men are strong, both are loving and both can be tender. The characters live and breath as you not only learn about them as individuals, but their families. I love the family interaction, once again that not only made it real for me, but also helped me see both men in a deeper way. These book show a true love story, who could resist that?

The first two books As Natural as Breathing, and Took my Breath Away were wonderful. The third book, Breath Each Other In, came out yesterday and by the time you read this I should be well into it. Having read and loved the first two, I have no problem recommending the third one strongly.

Saturday Spanking, August 9

Welcome to Saturday Spankings. A great day to see how much we can and can't tell in only eight sentences.
     I’m getting more and more excited about the new book, Cassie’s River Living that will be our soon. I hope to have a snippet up from that new book next week. Today I’m taking a snippet from the third book, Cassie on the Move.

Tom is always very particularly about Cassie’s health and years ago when her doctor first suggested she get a colonoscopy; Tom agreed it was a good idea. Cassie on the other hand, wasn’t so sure. While she tried to get mentally prepared she let Tom believe she was in the process of scheduling the dreaded test. Unfortunately, Tom played golf with Cassie’s doctor, and this was before the hipaa laws. After finding out Cassie was actively avoiding the test, Tom came in the door saying, “I’m going to wear you out.” Poor Cassie had no idea what he was upset about, as she put it, there could have been so many things at that time…

Oh shoot! It was that. Tom led me directly to the phone and dialed for me. He even put the phone on speaker and stood right there listening as I tried to reschedule.

The fool receptionist wasn’t helping any, “Now Ms. Duff you canceled the first appointment and you didn’t show up for the date you rescheduled. Do you think you’ll be able to make this one?”

Smartass, I wanted to say, why did she think I was calling? But with only a quick glance at Tom’s face I was able to assure her I’d be there.
      “You canceled the first appointment?” Tom asked me. “You said the doctor’s office said you had to reschedule.”

“They did say that,” I told him earnestly, and then added quietly, “after I canceled.”

Trying not to think about it

I’m always shocked when the calendar turns to August – it stuns and saddens me.  I’m a teacher and this depicts the truth:

I feel this is my last week of vacation. Next week I have to go into school twice, one day to prepare and one day for orientation with the kids. I’m not ready, I’m not ready to wear long pants, I’m not ready to wear shoes, I’m not ready to get up to an alarm clock and I’m definitely not ready to give up my morning hours in my peaceful and calm writing room.

I’ll survive, I hope to spend most of this week working on the final edits of the latest Cassie book – I’m excited about that. Then I guess it will be back to stealing a few hours writing time in the afternoon. One way or another I'll get my writing time in.

Saturday Spankings - August 2

Happy Saturday, I hope to get around to everyone today, but I have a house full of relatives for our family reunion all day today and tomorrow. I’m so excited about the fourth Cassie book coming out before long. The working title is Cassie’s River Living and we’re working to get it ready to go. I’ll be starting some snippets from that book soon, but for today I’m sticking with book two, Cassie's Tale.

Tom quickly returned from his trip after talking to Sue and hearing her version of what all had gone on. He won’t discuss any of it with Cassie that evening, but at breakfast the next morning he lays down a set of rules and restriction that has Cassie reeling with her total loss of freedom, and once again Cassie proves she doesn’t know when to keep her mouth shut.

      “You have lost your mind,” I stated simply. “I know what you’re thinking, you’re dragging up ancient history and you need to stop. I don’t sleep well when you’re away, and I tried to fix that. I guess I could have just stayed awake for a few more days,” I told him sarcastically. “I’m sorry I scared Sue and I’m sorry she tattled to you and made you come home early. I’m sorry I broke your stupid rule. And I’m sorry I had a damn glass of wine while you were gone, but if you think I’m putting up with all this foolishness, you’ve got another think coming.”

Tom moved fast for a big man, he pulled me from my seat and over to the island before I could protest. Taking the wooden spoon from the drawer he let loose a fast flurry of swats that had me dancing on my toes.
