I'm so happy to have Patty Devlin here today. I had the honor of begin able to post one of her stories for a Fantasy Friday, over at my other site New Beginnings. I'm happy to read here in her answers that she remembers that fondly too.
I hadn't realized how many books Patty has written. I've read many of them and I loved them. Her writing are very much to my taste. Patty is well know already, but I hope you will enjoy getting to know her a little better.
I give you...
I give you...
Give us your basic bio, what ever you’re willing to let us know.
I have always loved to daydream and write. It just comes naturally to me. I love to read so I devour books. Sadly, for the longest time I had a hard time finding the good books, the ones that had sexy dominant men in them. The books where the men weren't afraid to spank a girl if she deserves a few well earned swats. The books that had those scenes were very few and far between. So, what is a girl to do? I had to add the often-needed spankings to the stories... in my daydreams…
I love to write anyway, so I spent a lot of time writing real books that I had to edit the spankings (in my mind) out of because they weren't socially acceptable. So, when I found Blushing Books, I fell in love. I found books that I could read. Yeah, spankings! And I found a place to send my spanking books!
When did you first realize that you were interested in the idea of spanking?
Young. I was a child and daydreamed about the cute neighbor boy and an uncle who really wasn't. (an uncle, that is)
Are you in a relationship that includes spanking? How would you describe it?
My husband and I have played around with Domestic Discipline for years. Now he spanks me for fun and for punishment.
Were you spanked as a child? Whether yes or no, do you think this affected your interest?
I was spanked as a child, but I'm not sure it affected me like that. I really disliked my father. He drank and so was very mean. The spankings he gave me were often cruel and even uncalled for. I don't know if that somehow plays a part as I desire my man to be very loving and kind, but firm.
Did you, do you, or might you use spanking with your own children?
We do spank our children. Not often, and obviously nothing like I am spanked. Most often we use crueler punishments like taking away technology draws. A spanking would only be used if the crime was dangerous and warned previously. I seriously can't remember the last time one of them was spanked.
Do you remember the first spanking story or spanking book you ever read? Tell us about it.
Yes, of course. It was Whitney My Love by Judith McNaught. The Duke of Claymore spanks Whitney for a dangerous and selfish incident and them lovingly comforts her afterward.
7. When did you first begin writing spanking stories?
My first was almost fifteen years ago. But it was deleted by accident and I never went back to it. It's been like five or so years this jaunt.
8. How comfortable are you with people in your real life knowing that you write spanking fiction? Does everyone know, a select few, or do you try to keep it private?
I am very afraid of the public (small town) knowing and speculating, forming rumors as they will, but all of my closest friends and sister or cousins know.
Some people don’t like to be labeled in only one area, but do you feel your writing is in a particular category?
I like to keep my books clean, simply spankings, some spice but no actual sex scenes.
Do you think you might someday like to branch out and write something totally different (or do you), either within the spanking fiction world or something else completely?
I do write under other names, but I like to try to keep it separated.
How attached do you get to your characters? Do you know what happens after the book ends?
A book ending can be very traumatic for me. Sometimes I actually go through a funk of blues while I try to think of my next love. When I go back and read an old book I often get emotional all over again.
12. Describe your ‘perfect’ writing day.
Ha. These days it's any day that I get to write for about 2 hours uninterrupted (and my muse actually visits during the time).
13. When did you first begin publishing? What caused you to jump in at that moment in time?
Well, I'd have to say that it was after my story on your Fantasy Fridays had such positive feedback.
14. With so many wonderful writers here I can get confused as to who writes what. Would you list all the books you’ve published so far. I’m assuming your books can be purchased through Amazon and Barnes and Noble, but let us know where else they are available.

It was stated very clearly in the advertisement and she could probably read and write better than anyone one of them. He could have shrugged it off and gotten out of there, but he just couldn’t do it. The new schoolteacher needed someone who would stay on her tail and teach her a lesson or else she’d run right into danger.
But, he’d have to be honest with her and tell her about that no good scoundrel who had sired him. She at least had a right to know he was a bas—illegitimate, that the man who fathered him had left his mother alone to fend for herself. Then if Celia could handle that, well, they could work the rest out. Besides, there weren’t any other good choices and she simply couldn’t be without a husband.
