Blurb:
When rumors of twenty-three-year-old orphan Pepper Thornback’s incredible healing abilities reach the ruling Tribunal, Commander Quinn Garrick sets out to bring her to the capital. Pepper is given no choice in the matter, and when she attempts an escape during the journey she is taken over his knee for a sound spanking and then stripped bare for a painful, embarrassing switching.
More humiliating still, upon reaching their destination Quinn informs Pepper that she will be his ward for the duration of her stay and he will not hesitate to deal firmly with any disobedience.
Despite her blushing indignation at being treated in such a shameful manner, Quinn’s stern dominance arouses Pepper deeply, and when he takes her in his arms and claims her properly she is left utterly spent and satisfied. But when Pepper makes a shocking discovery concerning the fate of her parents, will the revelation strengthen her bond with Quinn or tear them apart forever?
Publisher’s Note: Bound to the Commander is a stand-alone sequel to Bound to the Admiral. It includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

Excerpt:
Back home, Quinn led Pepper into his study. He sat down in his armchair and pulled her on his lap, holding her in a gentle embrace.
“I want to spank you tonight. You said yes. Did you mean it?”
“I did,” she said. “But why?”
“You’re asking me why you said yes?” He sounded amused.
She laughed. “No. I’m asking you why you wanted to.”
“Because I want to leave my mark on you. I want to claim you as mine. Again. I’ll ask you the same question: why did you say yes?”
She exhaled a heavy sigh and, for the first time that night, her shoulders slumped. Her body curled into a small C. “Ever since Ezmar and Renee persuaded me to get this dress, I’ve been nervous. When I stepped onto the red carpet at the theater and saw all those people gawking at us, my worry went through the roof. Right until the music started, I was wound up as tight as a spring. When you suggested the spanking, I was hypnotized by the beauty of the moment. I’d never felt anything like being in that theater with such beautiful music washing through me.”
“And?”
“The music reminded me of being spanked, the change in pace, the change in energy. It made me long for the surrender that I’ve only ever felt with you. I can’t explain it but when I’m over your knee, submitting to you, I feel freer than at any other time. I don’t like the pain. I’d do anything to stop it while it’s happening, but I like the letting go, the being whole in the moment with you.”
This was what Quinn had been waiting for. He hadn’t wanted to seduce her when she was under duress. He’d been hoping for a sign that she liked the things he liked.
Now it was here. She was telling him that she wanted to be spanked. But he wanted her to say it out loud and unambiguously. “Then I should spank you tonight?”
“Yes. I think it would be a good idea. Especially if you want me with you tomorrow to welcome the admiral and princess. The music relaxed me, but the spanking will stay with me longer.” She turned her head away shyly, as if embarrassed by her own desire. He guided her face back to his and kissed her tenderly and long.
She raked her hands through his hair. “You have beautiful hair,” she whispered, nibbling his earlobe. “I love it when it’s wild like this.”
Her warm breath on his neck sent a shiver down his spine. That was the other signal he’d been waiting for: that she wanted more than just the release of a spanking. She wanted him, his cock. His seed inside her.
He covered his lust with a light chuckle. “It’s late and we have to be up early tomorrow. What must be at last should happen soon. Now in fact. But not here. My bedroom is a better place for what is to follow.”

Libby Campbell in her own words:
My romance novels feature strong, self-reliant women and the powerful men who love them. Romantic by nature, I write the stories I want to read: those that feature a spicy power exchange and deliver a sting in the tale.
Canadian by birth, I also lived in Australia for a couple of decades. While living there I overcame my aversion to saucer-sized spiders and, as a condition of marriage to my Aussie Prince Charming, I swore a lifelong allegiance to the Melbourne Football Club.
Then family called and my husband and I packed up and moved. We now live on a rocky island on Canada’s West Coast, close to beaches that once were frequented by smugglers and rumrunners.
My passions are reading and writing. I adore all animals and love hiking, beachcombing, and an occasional night of dancing.

What was your inspiration for this book?
I planned the entire series about a year ago and sketched out the different continents then. So At that time, I envisioned Elsinania’s culture as being well regulated and harmonious on the surface but troubled when examined closer.
Of course the pandemic in the series is much milder than anything we are seeing here now but at first the coincidence unnerved me a lot.
In this book, it was great fun setting the daughter of a dissident on a collision course with the authoritarian commander.
Why fantasy?
Sometimes I find planet earth a bit of a discouraging place. I wanted to create an escape, another world, with problems that are resolved and happy ever after moments.
I made that decision long before the bumping and bruising ride that arrived with the COVID19 virus. Now more than ever we need an escape. At least I do.
Colored socks?
That little detail was borrowed from a certain religious sect here in Canada. One of my friends grew up on a farm next to their communal property. The girls were only allowed bright colored socks until they were married. He told me that the girl who wore most shocking, brightest socks always flirted with him. Pepper isn’t that boy-crazy but she liked her bright socks as a way of personal expression.
What is the best part of writing?
Getting a new idea and running with it. Book 3 in this series, Bound To The Sheriff, is almost complete. It’s the first book I’ve ever written with no specific plotting.
I got one image of the opening scene and built the rest of it from there.
The process has been like riding a bike downhill really fast, wondering if I’m doing to crash or just have a breathtaking joy ride. So far it’s mostly been a joy ride.
Of course, the very best part of writing is hearing from readers who’ve enjoyed my books. Those kind comments are like Christmas, birthday, and the end of social distancing all in one package!
What is the hardest part of writing?
