Saturday Spankings - Cassie loses it

Welcome to Saturday Spankings. I’m taking snippets from the seventh book in the Cassie’s Space series, Cassie’s Ordeal. In last week’s snipped Tom insisted Cassie take his big car on that day. But Sue talked her into ignoring him and they took the Toy, only to have it break down and be towed back to the house. They switched to Tom’s car and then were involved in an accident.

Cassie is desperate that Tom not find out what she had done, and worried that some neighbor would tell him of seeing the Toy being towed to their house. Keeping this guilty secret from Tom has taken a serious toll on Cassie and she finally snaps.

I was finishing my second glass of wine when I heard him coming in. “Where have you been?” I asked him in such an angry voice that I even surprised myself.

“What…?” Tom began. But the dam had begun to crack and I exploded on him.

“You didn’t tell me you were going anywhere. I have to count for every blessed second of my life to you. But you can just disappear any time you like and not tell me anything!” I knew I was yelling, but I couldn’t stop.

“Girl, you were napping, I…”

“So you mean it’s my fault! Where were you? Talking to some gossiping neighbors? Some people have nothing better to do than mind other people’s business.” My voice was taking on a shrill tone as I felt myself losing it. Tom was staring at me with a dumbfounded look on his face as I continued, “If you go off somewhere TELL me!” I yelled at him. And draining the last of the wine from my glass I slammed it into the sink where it seemed to explode spraying the area with tiny shards of glass.

If Tom had been frozen in place before, that little stunt got him moving. He was behind me in a flash grabbing both my wrist as he pulled me back from the sink. He practically dragged me to the sofa and pulled me down to sit on his lap. Still holding both my arms he just said, “Cassie?”

“I didn’t do what you told me. I didn’t listen. We didn’t take your car that day. We took the toy. I should have listened, but I didn’t.” I was still speaking angrily. The poor man must have thought I’d lost my mind. He told me later that he knew I was talking about the day of the accident, but he still couldn’t make any sense of it since obviously we’d been hit while driving his car.

“Cassie, calm down. You’re not making any sense, honey.”

There was nothing left to do. I told him everything. I hated seeing his face go from confused, to realizing what I was telling him, and finally to anger as everything I was telling him began to sink in.

Blurb:

Cassie loves her life on the river with Tom and her friends. She feels Tom has her wrapped in a safe and protected cocoon of love.  But her world is jarred when the phone calls begin. Cassie hesitates to tell Tom about them knowing he’ll over react and she will be the one under ‘house arrest’. But when the calls go from annoying to frightening she has no choice. Tom brings in the police to find out who is behind the harassment and makes plans to keep Cassie safe, but he’s too late – Cassie is gone without a trace.

The police begin an all-out search, but there are few clues to go on. Will life on the river ever be the same again?

  1. I totally understand Cassie's reaction, as I'm sure Tom does, too. But the fact she ignored his request, despite assuring him she understood, is no doubt enough to make his blood boil. However, I'm not sure a spanking at this point will help unless it serves to finally calm Cassie down. In that case Tom should definitely give her what she needs. Great snippet, PK.

    1. Cassie can handle many things, but guilt is not one of them. Tom is not happy but Cassie is in need of some relief of guilt.

  2. Oh dear, keeping it from Tom definitely got to Cassie. Well, good on her fessing up. I agree, I think a spanking at this point would help, in more ways than one.

  3. She always tells the truth. Eventually! She loves Thom too much to deceive him for long.....

    1. She has been known to evade and withhold - but she won't look him in the eye and lie.
