Saturday Spanking - blackmail

Christmas is nearly upon us so I thank you for taking the time to stop by here for a Saturday Spanking snippet. I’m sticking with the newest book in the Cassie Space series, Cassie’s Life. Cassie has been contacted by a potential blackmailer and with her friends standing as watchdogs she meets with him. He give Cassie devastating new as well as an envelope he tell her to open in private. Sue and Cassie discuss the meeting…

“Sue, I really didn’t remember, I was drunk for nearly six months. I don’t remember much about that time. I was hurting, I was trying to forget everything.”
Sue reached over and pulled me into a tight hug. “It’s going to be all right. I promise, we’ll do whatever we have to do, but it’ll be all right. Let’s go home. We girls will come up with something, I promise.”
I suddenly remembered the envelope he’d given me. I pulled it from my purse but my hands were shaking too much to get it opened. Sue took it from me, tore it open and handed it back to me. It contained a Polaroid. I didn’t even remove it from the envelop, but I saw it. Time seemed to stop as I convulsively crumpled the envelope and picture in my hand. Large spots danced before my eyes.

Come by the Reading Room each Wednesday for some questions and answer from different characters in the Cassie's Space series or the Cal's Law series.

Cassie’s Life (Book 10)

Ask Cassie about her life on the river and she’ll tell you it’s lovely and peaceful. But while Cassie loves the life she lives, peaceful is not always an accurate description. Whether she’s confronting an armed man who’s in a drunken rage, planning a friend’s wedding or dealing with a ghost in a backwoods lodge, Cassie is going to deal with it the best way she knows how. And peaceful doesn’t always work.
When a mysterious phone call comes for Cassandra Wentworth – Cassie’s past is suddenly back to haunt her in a devastating way. Tom has always said nothing from before the time they met counts, but he didn’t know about this.  Sue, Annie, Allie and Jenny are all willing to help, but will it be enough?

  2. Cassie so shaken is not something we're used to - she's usually so filled with aplomb.

    Merry Christmas to all.

  5. Cassie was such a wild child in her younger years, it's surprising her past hasn't caught up with her before now. That said, I'm sure she doesn't want whatever is in that photo made public. She should tell Tom, but I suspect it might be something she doesn't want him to know either. Even so, I don't think it would surprise him since he knows her so well. Great snippet, PK

    1. It might not surprise him, but she definitely doesn't want him to ever know.

  6. I think she might as well make a clean breast of it to Tom. He always finds out anyway.
